Now, Quick Play: Hacked is coming back to the game again, but with a new twist this time. In a recentOverwatch 2Director’s Take, game director Aaron Keller revealed the next Quick Play: Hacked would be taking place later this season. Called Double Trouble, this game mode removes the duplicate hero restriction on each team in Role Queue, allowing both DPS or Support players to choose the same character. The experimental game mode doesn’t have a date yet, but fans can expect it to happen beforeOverwatch 2Season 9 ends on or around April 7.

The hero limit is something that was added to the game early on in the originalOverwatch’s lifespan. Before then,Overwatchdid not have Role Queue, and teams had six players, meaning each side could field up to six copies of the same hero. Keller even pointed out that the firstOverwatchinternal tournament was actually won by a team of five Winstons and one Support – a strategy he affectionately referred to as “Quinston.”

Overwatch 2is currently implementing some of the changes from Quicker Playinto the base game, with faster bots and shorter game times in Push, as well as a speed boost in Flashpoint. It is doubtful thatOverwatch 2will ever remove the one-hero limitation in Role Queue permanently, but it will no doubt be able to learn some valuable info during Double Trouble.

In the meantime, players can look forward toOverwatch 2’s mid-Season 9 patch on March 12, which also marks the start of theCowboy Bebopcollaboration event. With this exciting content leading up to Season 10 in just under a month,Overwatch 2fans will have plenty to keep them busy until then.
