Fortunately, Bandai Namco is preparing to share news aboutOne Piece Odysseylater this week.Summer Game Fest features a wealth of trailers, gameplay footage, and updates on previously announced games. Show host Geoff Keighley confirmed the June 9 showcase runs for nearly 2 hours with a few surprises and new reveals. This year’s iteration of Summer Game Fest strikes in the absence of E3 2022 asover 30 partners are on boardfor the event. InOne Piece Odyssey, the Straw Hat Pirates led by Monkey D. Luffy are heading on a brand-new adventure with an original story. The JRPG features new characters and enemies designed by the legendary manga author, Eiichiro Oda. In addition,Tales ofseries andDark Soulsseries composer Motoi Sakuraba lends his musical expertise to the official soundtrack ofOne Piece Odyssey.

One Piece Odysseyhas been in active development for a number of years as many await a new JRPG adventure with the popular Straw Hats crew. With a development team comprising Bandai Namco,Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearldeveloper ILCA, and the mastermind behindOne Piece, the new JRPG aims to be an authentic experience. TheOne Pieceseries received a plethora of games over the years andOne Piece Odysseymarks the series debut on next-gen consoles.

Although the game does not follow a story set intheOne Piecemanga,One Piece Odysseyshould provide a compelling experience for those closely reading the manga or watching the anime. Bandai Namco should take the strengths ofOne Pieceand translate it into a well-thought-out JRPG for the ages.

One Piece Odysseyis coming soon to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
