During the quest, players travel with Koranos, the Titan Watcher fromtheDragonflightcinematic trailer, and Travard to the final resting place of Tyr, the creator of the Dragon Aspects. While extracting his memories, players have the opportunity to relive Tyr’s final battle against the void monster Zakajz. During the encounter, Zakajz summons images of the corrupted forms of Neltharion, Malygos, Ysera, and Nozdormu, taunting Tyr that they would fall to corruption in the future. Near the end, Zakajz takes the form of Alexstrasza, saying she will also turn against the Titans in the future.

Besides Alexstrasza, Zakajz’s predictions forthe Dragon Aspects ofWorld of Warcraftall came true: Neltharion betrayed his kin and became Deathwing, Malygos went mad and tried to seal magic away from mortals, Ysera fell to the Nightmare, and Nozdormu is destined to become Murozond. That said, no other evidence has shown Alexstrasza will betray the Titans–indeed, it is possible Zakajz was simply trying to deceive Tyr and drive him to despair. Either way, it is clear seeing this experience has shaken Watcher Koranos, and will likely become a plot point in the future.

SomeWorld of Warcraftfans have already begun scouring other parts ofDragonflightfor evidence that could point to Alexstrasza becoming a boss in the future. At the end of the Silver Scale quest, Tyr’s new body moves briefly–and several players noticed his hand pointed to where Alexstrasza is standing. While this could be nothing, some believe it could mean Tyr was trying to communicate something.

Speculation aside, Alexstrasza and the dragons have taken a big step forward towards regaining their powers in Patch 10.1. Now that theBlack Dragonflight has a new Aspect inWoW, every flight has a united leader for the first time in thousands of years. However, with Patch 10.1.5, Fractures in Time, threatening to turn Nozdormu into Murozond during the Dawn of the Infinite megadungeon, players will have to wait and see how long this will last.

World of Warcraftis available now for PC.
