It was slightly over a year ago when theSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verseteaser was released. While a long time has passed since then, the full trailer just dropped by Sony will surely have Marvel fans excited for a very emotional adventure next year.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Versebecame a huge sensation thanks to the unique art styles used to bring Miles Morales and all the otherSpider-Manvariants to life. However, that roster is bound to increase for the sequel, which already has a part two,Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, in store for 2024. That first preview only showed Miles and Spider-Gwen catching up and a brief snippet of himrunning into Spider-Man 2099, but the new trailer might be packing a suit collection that will make game completionists envious.

TheSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Versetrailer opens with Miles having a heartfelt chat with his mom, Rio, while scenes from the first movie play, though Miles still appears to be heavily burdened by the responsibility that comes with being Spider-Man. As for the new stuff,Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verseoffers itsfirst look at Issa Rae’s Spider-Woman, whose design certainly shines as she is seen riding her motorcycle and stomping an unlucky variant of the Vulture. Nevertheless, those looking for further insight into where the plot will take Miles will have to wait a bit longer because Sony has done a great job at keeping that aura of mystery intact.
Contrary to the first teaser,Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verseis not flexing its artistic chopshere. Writers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have stated the movie will feature at least 6 different animation styles, but theSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Versetrailer seems to be all about establishing that fellow Spider-Man Miguel O’Hara won’t exactly be a friendly face when he and Miles first meet. And it’s not just Spider-Man 2099 who’s hunting Miles down, as even Gwen appears to be caught at a crossroads to determine right and wrong and whose side she’s on.
There are simply too many Spider-Man suits that can be spotted after Miles, yet among them, the black and silver Armored Spider and at least one female figure different from Gwen are briefly caught on camera, though there are no clear signs of Spider-Punk. The video ends with a PS5 ad, and even if no further announcements were made, withMarvel’s Spider-Man 2also coming out in 2023, it looks like Spidey fans are in for a webtastic time next year.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verseis scheduled for release on July 30, 2025.
