Slowly but certainly, Polyphony Digital’sGran Turismo 7is alleviating its launch-day problems and filling out its otherwise already substantial roster of drivable vehicles. Featuring three all-new cars each, these content updates have been getting pushed out towards the end of each month, and it seems like the studio isn’t about to skip a bit in July, either.
Namely, the lead designer of the franchise at large andGran Turismo 7specifically, Kazunori Yamauchi, just Tweeted out a small peek at what’s to come next week. Players can expect another by-the-numbers content update, it would seem, but the curious bit is that Yamauchi only shared a mysterious tease of the three featured vehicles, leading the community to theorize on what they might be.

Since the biggest fans ofGTare bound to have played mostpreviousGran Turismogamesas well, and have a good sense of what Polyphony Digital might be gunning for, it seems like the community has already figured out what the three cars are. The topmost model looks to be the legendary Maserati A6GCS/53 Spyder: a classic 1953 sports car, and on the right, the distinctive wing design reveals the Nissan Skyline Super Silhouette from 1982. Interestingly, the car featured on the left isn’t such an easy guess, but the silhouette is reminiscent of Porsche’s 918 Spyder.
Whatever the case may be, Yamauchi confirmed that the update would be dropping sometime next week, which should giveGran Turismo 7car collectorsanother couple of interesting and potentially coveted vehicles to chase after. It’s also interesting to note that this effectively cements theGT7post-launch content release model: players can almost certainly expect to get precisely three new cars in the final week of every month, by the looks of it.
Those who’ve stuck with the game will know that there’s more to an end-of-month content update than just the new vehicles, however.Gran Turismo 7’s update 1.17, for example, also included the long-awaited Watkins Glen track, giving players yet another challenging track to master. Yamauchi didn’t share much at all on this front, and while it’s a reasonable assumption that a track of some sort is coming, too, it’s also worth pointing out that this has not been confirmed at this time.
Of course, update 1.17 did also include a few newMenu Book items forGran Turismo 7. This implies that the content schedule model is at least somewhat flexible, and that Yamauchi’s team at Polyphony Digital may have some surprises for the community still. A more detailed announcement for next week’s update should be coming shortly.
Gran Turismo 7is available now on PS4 and PS5.
