Marvel’s Spider-Manhas received many iconic suits over the years, but there are still plenty of costumes that fans want to see added. One such costume is from the beloved Spider-Man game on PS1, and aMarvel’s Spider-Manfan has edited it into the game.
Simply titledSpider-Man, Neversoft’s take on the wallcrawler released in 2000 and still has many fans over two decades later. With a developer recently revealing that they want toremasterSpider-ManPS1, the game is still being talked about for its strong story, solid gameplay, and a good voice cast. As a result, many gamers have wanted to see the PS1Spider-Mansuit added to Insomniac’s hit series.

With so manyrequests for aSpider-ManPS1 suit, @official_bigj took it upon themselves to photoshop the costume into the game. They shared several photos, including a shot of the suit from the back and an image of the outfit in the game’s costume selection menu. One standout edit showed the PS1 suit in one of the game’s loading screens, which is a common way for Insomniac to hype up new suit arrivals. The Redditor even added an “inspired bySpider-Man” logo into the bottom right corner, further mirroring Insomniac’s costume announcements.
Another great image shows the suit added into a cutscene, specifically the one where Peter and MJ meet up inside her apartment.Mary Janecan be seen looking in the direction of PS1 Peter as he rests his foot on the windowsill, clearly planning to leap out the window and swing toward danger. The costume looks great in-game, further proving the point of those that have wanted to see it for years. A neat comparison is made by ducktalesfan607, too, as they say it reminds them of the Mario 64 suit fromSuper Mario Odyssey.
While adding in a costume based on Neversoft’sSpider-Manmay seem ridiculous on paper, Insomniac has already included some over-the-top looks in its games. Not only is there an Undies suit for Peter, but the Vintage costume features a cel shaded look that stands out from other costumes. With theInto the Spider-Versesuit also bringing a unique art style,Spider-ManPS1 would feel right at home in the 2018 game’s suit lineup. The bigger issue may be getting around the red tape, as likeCrystal Dynamics’ Spidey suit, Insomniac Games would need to work with another company to get access to the costume.
While it may be too late for this costume to come to the original game, the upcomingMarvel’s Spider-Man 2could provide an opportunity for the suit to be added. For now, all fans can do is make requests for the suits they want to see and hope thatInsomniac Gamesdelivers.
