If the DLC leaks forMortal Kombat 1are accurate, then one of the game’s best possible DLC fighters is already obvious. If DLC characters can be a source of Kameo fighters as well, then there is one selection that would be a slam dunk for a guest Kameo. It won’t be long before this news is fully confirmed or denied in an official capacity, but one ofMortal Kombat 1’s Kameo options should already be penciled in if DC’s Peacemaker is set to make an appearance.

As one of the first new features revealed,Mortal Kombat 1’s Kameo fighterssound like a fun addition to the game. In addition to their fighter, players will also be able to choose from a roster of NPCs known as Kameo fighters. While the system hasn’t been detailed in full, it has been said that Kameo fighters will be able to assist the player during their fights. This is likely to be a major part of the upcoming meta, with players experimenting with which Kameo fighters work best with which fighters. However it works, it will be interesting to see which characters make the cut in the actual roster versus who ends up as a simple Kameo fighter.

Peacemaker’s Vigilante is a Prime Choice For a Kameo Fighter in Mortal Kombat 1

SincePeacemakerwas named in therumoredMortal Kombat 1DLC leak, his series would be excellent fodder for a Kameo fighter pairing. After all, the wild action-comedy featured a lot of fun and amusing characters for fans to enjoy. One that stands out above the rest, however, is Vigilante. A far cry from the character who originally bore the namesake, Vigilante is a wild, unpredictable killer who is only restrained by his odd yet strict ideas of justice. As the best fighter on the team next to Peacemaker himself, Vigilante would make an excellent choice as one ofMortal Kombat 1’s Kameo fighters.

Vigilante has more than enough options at his disposal to joinMortal Kombat 1’s rosteras one of its Kameo fighters. He’s a highly skilled and dangerous fighter with a lot of weapons and a willingness to use all of them. He could light up an enemy with his revolvers akin to Erron Black, or blow them away from afar with a sniper rifle. He has melee options too, with an intimidating machete as well as murderous efficiency with his bare hands. If anything, Vigilante may have too many ways to attack opponents while assisting an ally in battle.

While Peacemaker isn’t the only rumored DLC fighter, Vigilante is probably the best candidate among them for a Kameo fighter. AlthoughHomelander being inMortal Kombat 1would bring a lot of excitement, and Omni-Man is the subject of well-known memes, Vigilante’s ruthlessness and connection to Peacemaker make him a natural choice to accompany him. Plus, Vigilante is a naturally funny character, just like Peacemaker himself, and his quick wit would be able to liven up the scene of a fight. Vigilante is not only thematically suited toMortal Kombat, he may just be too entertaining a character to pass up.

Of course, this could all be empty speculation, as the DLC rumors have not yet been confirmed, and likely won’t be until afterMortal Kombat 1’s release. However, guest characters inMortal Kombat 1are almost a certainty considering how much of a tradition they have become for the series, and the debut of Kameo characters offers even more opportunities. Some characters with potential could go onto the Kameo list if the developers can’t find a place for them in the game’s main playable roster. For that reason, Vigilante has the potential to be an excellent Kameo fighter inMortal Kombat 1.

Mortal Kombat 1will be released on July 26, 2025, for the Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
