Even with all these new reveals, NetherRealm Studios is preparing for one of the most important pieces of any online game, opening it up to players to put it through its paces during theMortal Kombat 1beta. Here is everything players need to know including the start and end times, how to access the beta, and what content is included.

Mortal Kombat 1 Beta Dates

Earlier this week, the officialMKTwitter account revealed thatMortal Kombat 1beta dates are rapidly approaching. Access on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S begins on Friday, August 18 at 11am EDT and runs through the weekend with an end date of Monday, August 21 at 11am EDT.

Those with a digital code can redeem it prior to the start date through the PlayStation Store or Xbox Marketplace and NetherRealm has confirmed that the beta can be downloaded prior to the start time on August 15, so players can hop right in once the gates open officially.

How To Get Into the Mortal Kombat 1 Beta

Unfortunately, this beta test won’t be an open one, so to gain access, players will first need to make sure they’ve preorderedany of theMortal Kombat 1editionsfor PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S. Doing so should provide a code, either on the receipt for a physical edition, via an email from online retailers, or direct access if pre-ordered through Xbox or PlayStation digital storefronts directly. Players will also need to ensure they have a Warner Bros Games Account in order to redeem the code given through pre-orders from participating retailers, either physically or digitally.

What’s Included in the Mortal Kombat 1 beta?

NetherRealm Studios has confirmed that the following game modes will be available for beta players:

Players will also have access to more of the base roster than was previously available duringtheMK1stress test. In addition to Sub-Zero, Kenshi, Liu Kang, and Kitana, the recently revealed Johnny Cage and Li Mei are also active. Kameos include Jax, Sonya, Kano, and Frost while the stages remain the same as they were with only The Teahouse and Johnny Cage’s Mansion.
