Call of Duty: Modern Warfarehas received a mixed reception and this is largely because of the expectation that built up prior to its release. While Infinity Ward has tried to make positive changes since the release of the game, some fans are still unsatisfied with the product. It now looks like a roadmap is coming for fixes and updates.

TheCall of Dutyfranchise is renowned for its quality action, however as audiences have increased and nostalgia has set in, players have begun to expect different things. With forums easily accessible, players have made it clear what changes they want to be made; the problem is, it is unclear whether Infinity Ward sees these complaints. While there has been satisfaction when requested changes have been made, there has also been an outcry when the game has faults.

Players are frustrated with the fact that they don’t know if Infinity Ward is recognizing their issues and whether they’ll be fixed. Fortunately, Ashton Williams, Infinity Ward’s Senior Communications Manager, has reassured fans that a roadmap is “coming.” With a roadmap, players will know what to expect and perhaps Infinity Ward will receive fewer requests for content that it is already working on or aware of. A roadmap will begin to helpInfinity Ward maintainCall of Duty: Modern Warfareplayers.

The issue with this incoming roadmap is that there is no date for its arrival. On top of that, the issue of players being matched with others who have high latency is still being fixed, but again there is no date for this issue to be resolved. There’s plenty ofproblems withModern Warfarein and outside of gameplayand players not knowing when issues will be rectified has proved frustrating for some.

DespiteInfinity Ward originally stating it won’t take fan requests forModern Warfare, it is clearly listening to the community. It appears that the developer now needs to apply its continued support of the game with a tangible plan that players can understand. A lack of communication seems to be a large player in fan tension, a roadmap would certainly alleviate that problem. However, with no dates players may be asking for an ETA of a roadmap before long.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfareis available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
