The Scan Visor has several functions inMetroid Prime Remastered, one of which is to register entires to the Log Book. These entries serve to give information about the game’s creatures, objects, and world, and fans can unlock a variety of “extras” by securing them. This guide is here to help players earn all of these extras, and the locations ofMetroid Prime Remastered’sLog Book entries can be found in what follows.
To note, there are severalmissable Log Bookentries inMetroid Prime Remastered. Those entries have been marked withasterisks (*)in the tables below, and readers will need to obtain them on subsequent playthroughs if they have already passed them.

Pirate Data
In almost all instances, Pirate Data Log Book entries are secured by scanningcomputer terminalsthat display a red Scan Point.Metroid Prime Remasteredplayersare thus advised to simply equip the Scan Visor in the rooms that are indicated in the following table and look for red squares.
Phazon Mines, Elite Control
Chozo Lore
Chozo Lore entries have a very distinct look, which makes them quite easy to locate.
Upon entering Phendrana Canyon, drop and turn around.
Shining One
Chozo Ruins, Magma Pool
Place a Power Bomb next to wall with vines to reveal.
Creatures
The vast majority of the missable Log Book entries are Creature entries, and players should review the notes in the following table carefully to avoid missing them. Furthermore, many of theseMetroid Prime Remasteredcreaturescan be found in locations beyond what has been indicated, and fans that are diligent about scanning as they explore should amass many entires without much effort. That said, the rooms that are noted within this table are good places for securing entries that have been missed.

Research
While most of the Research Log Book entires are quite easy to secure, there are a few that can be missed. Specifically,Metroidfansthat interact with the all the Map Stations, Missile Locked Doors, and Stalactites before scanning them will not be able to earn their associated entires during their current playthrough.

Artifacts
The Log Book entries for all 12 ofMetroid Prime Remastered’s Chozo Artifactsare obtained by scanning the pillars at the Artifact Temple.
