When Miranda Lawson is introduced inMass Effect, her character’s allegiances and affiliations are questionable. Miranda is an artificially enhanced Cerberus officer working as an operative under the Illusive Man, appearing in both the second game andMass Effect’s third installment. Other characters' reactions to Shepard working alongside Cerberus also paint a negative connotation on the pro-human paramilitary group.
Despite being affiliated with Cerberus, Miranda is an empathetic character and a viableromantic interest inMass Effect 2. Miranda’s calculated convictions set her character apart from other human characters, and her conventional beauty has won the hearts of players and fans alike. Recently, a fan has shown their admiration for the character through cosplay that brings Miranda to life.

Miranda’s character is fleshed out further during herloyalty mission inMass Effect 2, where players help her rescue her genetic twin sister, Oriana, from their father. It is then possible to lose Miranda during the game’s final suicide mission if certain conditions are unmet, similar to almost every other squadmate that players gather throughoutMass Effect 2.

While Miranda is not nearly as prominent of a character inMass Effect 3,if she does indeed survive the previous game, her missions are entertaining and yet another opportunity to save her from death appears. Certain conditions must then be met tosave Miranda inMass Effect 3while confronting her father and sister once again, and failure to meet these requirements will lead to her death. This showcases how intricate and involved the storylines are for almost every squadmate inMass Effect, where choices that took place in previous games may impact the next installments significantly.
Sweet-Calamity has also cosplayed as other empowered female characters from different franchises and media. For example, the fan has cosplayed as Yennefer fromThe Witcher 3and Jessica Jones from the eponymous Marvel television series on Netflix.
