Although it didn’t garner as much attentionas other MCU shows,What If…?still has a fanbase eagerly awaiting more content. While a second season is in the works, it seems production is indefinitely delayed.

However, that doesn’t mean fans must wait forever fornewWhat If…?content. Random House Works and Marvel Entertainment have announced threeWhat If…?novels to release in 2024. These novels take place in their own universes within the Multiverse and will explore new origin stories for some of Marvel’s most iconic characters. These first books will become a longer series following the adventures of a new universe of heroes.

The first novel will hit shelves on June 10, 2025, and is titledWhat If…Loki Was Worthy? A Loki and Valkyrie Story. Madeleine Roux tells the story of a universe where Loki takes Thor’s place as the wielder of Mjölnir. The second novel, written by Seanan McGuire, isWhat If…Wanda Maximoff and Peter Parker Were Siblings? A Scarlet Witch and Spider-Man Story.McGuire’s story will be published in July 2024. Finally,What If…Marc SpectorWas a Host to Venom? A Moon Knight and Venom Storyby Mike Chen will release in October 2024.

Random House hinted at what’s to come with the firstWhat If…?novel, explaining that the plot starts with one of Loki’s pranks causing the death of his brother, Thor. Odin banishes Loki to Midgard, where the god of mischief must live a quiet life among humans. However, Loki’s new life is interrupted when Valkyrie finds him. Together, they must find Jane Foster and fulfill Thor’s dying wish.

Random House confirmed that the novels are rated for adult readers rather than young adults, meaning fans can expect a no-holds-barred action-packed adventure from each book. Fans can pre-order the first novel starring Loki for $28.99 from most online booksellers. The audiobook will cost about the same, and the eBook will cost about $15.
