Following the recent announcement ofSpider-Man 2, many fans have been speculating on what will be featured in the next installment. Both Peter Parker and Miles Morales are confirmed to be playable inSpider-Man 2, but no substantial gameplay details have been revealed outside of that. However, there are many fans of the series that want a particular Spider-Man 2 villain to receive his own spin-off game.

The arrival ofVenom inSpider-Man 2was exciting for many in the gaming community. The character has grown in popularity over the last several years, and Venom’s presence in the upcoming game will surely make the narrative experience much more captivating for several players. A Reddit user named Additional_Safety_35 suggested that afterSpider-Man 2, Venom could have his own spin-off game similar toSpider-Man: Miles Morales. Many other users echoed the original poster’s thoughts, saying that an anti-hero like Venom would make for an interesting story. Not to mention that there’s enough variance in Venom’s abilities in order for the gameplay to be distinguishable from the regularSpider-Mangameplay.

Whether or notInsomniac Gamesdecides to make a Venom spin-off game is impossible to tell right now. There’s barely any information to go on in terms ofSpider-Man 2and what that game will look like, let alone a hypothetical Venom spin-off game. Then again, if a Venom game were to be developed, there’s a lot for the developers to consider before tackling it.

GivenVenom’s background lore, the symbiote goes through a various different hosts over the course of the comic series. The most likely host inSpider-Man 2is Harry Osborn, in which case Venom has the potential to be an anti-hero. If the symbiote were to possess a different character, though, it’s possible that Venom will just remain one of the villains that both versions of Spider-Man will face in the game.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Insomniac Games' Marvel series. The inclusion ofSpider-Man: Miles Moralesand especially the upcomingWolverinegameopens up many possibilities for future Marvel games. If there’s enough demand for it, Insomniac might at the very least consider the possibility of a Venom game. Still, it’s hard to know what to expect when not much is known about eitherSpider-Man 2andWolverine.
