Of the several exciting announcements made during the recent PlayStation Showcase event,Marvel’s Spider-Man 2is one that many in the gaming community were excited to see. While there hasn’t been that much to go on in terms of the upcoming installment,Spider-Man 2will feature both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as playable protagonists. Though, as many fans have noticed, Peter’s suit looks quite different from the first game.

TheAdvanced Suit was first introduced inMarvel’s Spider-Manand has since become synonomous with Insomniac Games' version ofSpider-Man. However, going into the second installment, it seems that the Advanced Suit has received another upgrade. It’s impossible to know what that upgrade is specifically, but one fan has already detailed every aesthetic difference between the two suits.

A Reddit user by the name of Primer2396 meticulously compared the two versions of the Advanced Suit and found several differences that go beyond just having the suit be a darker shade of red. As noted by the Redditor, there’s numerous minute design changes to the eyes, shoulders, torso, waist, and arms of the suit. On the outset, it almost looks like a cross between the Advanced Suit and theAmazing Suit.

It looks as thoughInsomniac Gamesis giving this version of the Advanced Suit a more classic feel to it. Although, the Advanced Suit inMarvel’s Spider-Mandiverged from past Spider suit designs, it did retain the same color scheme and layout as past suits. Just based on the color of the suit alone, this version seems to possess elements that will make it uniquely its own.

Despite the limited number of games in the series, the various equippable suits have remained a staple of everySpider-Mangame to come out so far. Considering the sheer amount of selection in both games, including thebodega cat suit inSpider-Man: Miles Morales, it’s possible that there might not be as many new suits in the upcoming installment, especially considering how there will be two playable versions of Spider-Man to accomodate.

It will be interesting to see what direction Insomniac takesSpider-Man 2in. The fact that Venom will not only make an appearance in the new game, but thatVenom will also be voiced by Tony Todd, is something that many fans will be looking forward to. Then again, it’s likely thatSpider-Man 2will also feature more than one villain, as was the case with the previous installment. With any luck, Insomniac Games will have more information in the coming months.
