Marvel’s Avengerscurrently features seven playable characters for players to choose from. These seven characters all have “Iconic” skins that allow most people to recognize them, but they also have several comic-inspired skins each that can be earned or purchased inMarvel’s Avengers. TheFuture Imperfect Hawkeye DLCwill add Hawkeye as a playable character along with new skins for his character, but so far none of the skins inMarvel’s Avengersare based directly off of a look from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
However, this could change in the future. With MCU shows likeWandaVisionandFalcon and the Winter Soldierintroducing new looks for beloved characters, fans are anxious to see these looks inMarvel’s Avengers. There’s also hope for old MCU costume designs like wartime Captain America or Thor’s suit from 2012’sAvengers. In a recent livestream to celebrate the Future Imperfect DLC, development team members from Crystal Dynamics discussed the possibilities of adding looks from the MCU as cosmetics inMarvel’s Avengers.

During the livestream, some curious fans asked the development team about the future inclusion of MCU costumes inMarvel’s Avengers. One fan asked specifically about looks from the planned MCU filmDr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, to which the team responded it was “very possible.” Another fan asked a similar question and Crystal Dynamics simply said that it had “nothing to share at the moment, but stay tuned!”
Crystal Dynamics clearly isn’t ready to reveal any plans it has for future skins yet, but the team’s responses are encouraging. Future entries in the MCU have the possibility to introduce new looks for characters fans haven’t seen yet. There is already a lot ofspeculation aboutDr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessand what versions of heroes a multiverse could bring. With Tobey Maguire reportedly back as some version of Spider-Man inMultiverse of Madnessand the upcomingSpider-Man: No Way Home, there are plenty of available looks for the wall-crawler to sport.
Of course, there’s also the possibility that Crystal Dynamics can bring back some old looks for heroes as well. Therumored DLC release order forMarvel’s Avengershas Spider-Man and Black Panther up next for release, which means fans could get to beat up robots in Black Panther’s infamous costume from the movies or even sporting the Iron Spider look fromSpider-Man: Far From Home. TyingMarvel’s Avengersin with the MCU somehow could bring a lot of fans back to the game and make 2021 a more successful year for Crystal Dynamics than 2020.
Marvel’s Avengersis available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions coming March 18.
