Summary

Last Epochis set in the world of Eterra, where players must journey through different timelines and alternate realities to stop an ancient evil from destroying existence itself. “Travelers” can travel through time and space. They unlock skills and abilities as they play, letting them customize their character’s playstyle and build.

Sentinel is one of the five base classes inLast Epoch. As a heavily armored warrior, the Sentinel can withstand significant damage while dishing out powerful attacks. Their primary attribute is Strength. A Sentinel Build is a specific set of skills, passive nodes, and gear players can customize their Sentinel character to fit their playstyle. Now, let’s look at the best Sentinel build inLast Epoch.

Forge Army Forge Guard Build

Updated March 5, 2024by Marc Santos:This list of Best Sentinel Builds for Last Epoch remains largely relevant even in the release version of the game. While some builds took a hit following nerfs to abilities, items, and game systems, the core ideas behind each build still work in the 1.0 sandbox. We’ve updated this article to keep things in-line with how the launch version of Last Epoch works — the themes of each build are the same, but the recommended gear and skills for each have been retouched so the builds can keep up with the game’s current state of balance.

The Forge Army Forge Guard build is a tanky minion summoning build that focuses on summoning Forged Weapons and Manifested Armor while shredding enemies with Warpath and Void Cleave. The build is known for its lazy gameplay, making it ideal for those who enjoywatching movies or Netflixwhile playing.

Whirlwind Warpath Forge Guard Sentinel build

Convert Warpath and Void Cleave to deal Fire damage with the Earthscorcher and Hellish Chasm passives, and take all the Fire damage nodes for Manifest Armor and Forge Strike.

Much like the previous Warpath build, this one focuses on dealing Fire damage to everything on the screen. The difference here is that instead of using Forged Weapons, this buildauto-casts Smitethrough Warpath’sWinds of Justicepassive, which gives it a chance to cast Smite every time it hits an enemy. Smite itself turns into a single-target devastator with theHands of AurelusandSeraph Bladepassives from Healing Hands.

Smelter’s Wrath Build

While spinning, the build also has a chance to throw axes and launch divine bolts from Vortex Pennant as well as the Divine Bolt and Axe Thrower passives from the Paladin and Sentinel trees. You can make the build even better by usingLast Epoch’slegendary items, but it’ll work well even without them.

This build alternates between dealing Fire and Void damage with Smelter’s Wrath and Void Cleave. Both skills excel at dealing AoE damage, though the former is a charged attack that hits over a wider area while the latter has an instant cast time. The centerpiece of this build is Eternal Eclipse, a Unique 2-Handed Sword that grants Fire Melee Attacks extra Void Damage and vice versa every two seconds. Manifest Armor and Ring of Shields are here to protect players as they charge up Smelter’s Wrath.

Smiter Paladin Build

The build deals extremely high burst damage, especially once players stack up their Fire and Void Damage stats. However, it isn’t as mobile as many other builds, and that could lead to death if there are too many incoming attacks. Also, most players won’t be able to use this build fully untilthe mid-late part ofLast Epoch’scampaign.

The Smiter Paladin Build focuses on maximizing the damage dealt by Smite, an ability that uses holy fire to burn enemies. The build converts Smite into a Lightning-based ability through theOrder of Lagonpassive and its surrounding nodes. The uniqueDevotionamulet is crucial for this build as it increases lightning damage, cast speed, and adaptive spell damage based on the amount of mana the player is missing. The build also includes using Sigils of Hope as well as Healing Hands, which can be modded to be cast every time Smite is used.

Autobomber Void Knight Build

TheDesperate Measurespassive for Smite on the top-left of the specialization tree is a must-have for this build. It lets players cast Smite even when they have no mana left. This naturally synergizes with Devotion’s negative mana requirements.

The Autobomber Void Knight Build allows players to use Anomaly and Devouring Orb to kill everything in their path while running through any content. This build is potent, and it utilizes Void-themed Sigils of Hope to increase its survivability and Void damage.Skills inLast Epochcan be auto-castby using third-party software or certain tricks with control inputs.

Devouring Orb and Anomaly are the stars of this build, and they leave plenty of space for experimentation with other skills. Smite is a good low-cost alternative that also scales with Spell modifiers, giving players a DPS option for when both core skills are already active.
