With its sequel planned for 2024, now is the time for players to reacquaint themselves with Henry’s story inKingdom Come: Deliveranceand jump back into the action. While the story itself starts off slowly in order to immerse the players into theopen-world aspect of this action RPG, Henry will quickly find himself in danger and will be required to learn how to ride a horse in order to escape the Cuman forces. Steering these beautiful steeds will take time to master, and some patience along the way, but once Henry is saddled properly and can direct his horse in the right direction, the sky’s the limit.
Horses inKingdom Come: Deliverancearen’t common to find and are considered a luxury for Henry to own. There are 29 horses in total, each coming with their own tier level and set of stats, which covers how quickly they can run, the distance they can cover, the max amount of weight they can carry, and, arguably the most important, their courage level. A fast horse with good stamina can escape sticky situations, while those who fear nothing are perfect for players who wish to take Henry out onto the battlefield while mounted on a horse. Almost every horse is available in the main game, with a few exceptions to the DLC purchases, and this guide will help players learn the horse system.

How To Easily Get Henry’s First Horse
In the follow-up mission to Henry’s assistance in building a sword with his father, the attack on Skaltiz will force players to flee the incoming Cumans and their lust for blood. While running on foot may put some distance between Henry and his enemies, his stamina will quickly deplete and force players totake on countless Cumans. This isn’t ideal, as they wield swords and armor, so it’s time to steal a horse. Olena is the first horse players will come across and, while it doesn’t belong to Henry, stealing is the only option and, thankfully, will face no punishment for the committed crime. A prompt will appear detailing the instructions to ride the horse efficiently, and then it’s off to the races.
Pebbles is a horse given to Henry for free at the start of The Hunt Begins, and comes with its own saddle and bridle, though its stats are lackluster compared to almost every other horse available. Players will also encounter a few different breeds of horses during missions, including Pie, Roan, and Zora’s dappled grey, all of which can be encountered through various side missions. Though none of the three horses ever belong to Henry or can be ridden past the conclusion of the side mission, they are registered inKingdom Come: Deliverance’s dataand can be mounted at least once during a playthrough.

How To Buy Different Horses
The remaining 23 horses are available throughoutKingdom Come: Deliverance’s main story, offering players plenty of different styles that can either assist with lengthy travels or become a feared warrior in battle. There are four main towns that will have horse traders roaming around, all of whom are free to talk to and will be willing to take a payment for one of their loyal steeds. Players can either pay up front and accept the asking price, or trade in their current horse for a significant reduction. Doing the latter will forfeit the current horse partner for the new one, which allows players to switch up strategies for the upcoming mission. Here is the list of each town and the horses available in them.
Pribyslavitz
Agro, Shadowfax, Shadowmere
All horses hold a different tier, from Tier 0 being reserved for the non-playable and starter horses, to the horses with the most favorable stats ending up in Tier 5. It’s important to note that some horses in Tier 4 may outclass those of higher ranking, and could come at a cheaper cost. When it comes tosaving money inKingdom Come: Deliverance, it’s always important to make wise decisions whenever the opportunity arrives to save an extra pound of gold. For a mission that may involve little fighting, a horse with higher speed and stamina will be more useful to Henry than one with a high courage ranking. Horses with larger maximum capacity are also perfect for long adventures and gathering plenty of valuable resources to sell.
