TheJackasscrew sure loves their job, at least enough to continue its long-established tradition of filming so many stunts to make two whole movies now that it’s been confirmedJackass 4.5will be heading directly to streaming, only on Netflix.
Jackass Foreverpremiered in early Februaryin theaters before making its way to Paramount’s streaming service on March 25, collecting just over $80M in box office revenue against the franchise’s typically modest budget of just $10M. Although the movie was distributed by Paramount Pictures, the cast has confirmed a deal was struck to allow forJackass 4.5to stay onNetflixuntil 2024, when the studio will reclaim all of its catalogs to its proprietary service

As for the actual movie,Jackass 4.5will feature the usual mix of discarded stunts, unused footage, behind-the-scenes looks, and interviews with all of theJackass Forevercast. Netflix released a tiny teaser of what fans can expect to find in it once it premieres on May 20. “The Swingest Gauntlet” features most of the gang at a playground basically recreating their own painful version of hitting the targets with some silly suits, so it’s definitely the kind of entertainmentJackassfans love.
Jackass 4.5will feature the entirety of the cast, with director Jeff Tremaine saying actor and comedian Eric André is bound to show up in it too. However, it’s a mystery whether the film contains more unused footage ofdisgraced cast member Bam Margera. As fans know, Margera had a falling out with the film’s production team that ended up in him suing Tremaine, Paramount Pictures, and longtime friend Johnny Knoxville.
At the time of writing, it has been made public that Margera’s lawyers dropped said lawsuit, though it’s not been fully confirmed if this was due to some sort of settlement being agreed upon by the parties involved, as none of them have commented on the matter. Margera barely shows up in the background duringJackass Forever, but the story dates back to last year when he was fired from the movie after allegedly failing to comply with a wellness agreement that he signed to star in the movie.
Since becoming a pop culture icon in the early 2000s,Jackasseven got its own weird video gamein what is yet another reminder of the profound impact the franchise had on an entire generation. So whileJackass Foreveris their true painful swan song, there are plenty of reasons to watch what the crew kept in store forJackass 4.5.
