In just a little under a week,Call of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 4 is going to be releasedto the world, giving players a slew of new content. Unfortunately, there’s still a ton of people that are leveling up through the current season and with the next season launching on Tuesday, there’s not much time left. Infinity Ward is looking to rectify that problem by activating double XP, double weapon XP, and double battle pass tiersthis weekend.
The developer announced the news via Activision’s game blog, alongside news of anew Call of Duty Endowment packand the weeklyCall of Duty: Modern Warfareplaylist update.

The event itself is set to kick off at 10 AM PDT (1 PM EDT) on Friday, July 28, 2025 and is set to last until 10AM PDT on Monday, July 31, 2025. That gives players three whole days to grind out the game to their heart’s content. It doesn’t matter whether they are trying to get that one gun to max rank, get that exclusive weapon variant for reaching 155, or trying to make it totier 100 in the Battle Pass. No matter what players want, they’ll be rewarded for grinding this weekend.
It is important to point out that there is a whole day in between when the double XP ends and when Season 4 begins, so players shouldn’t think that they’ll be able to take advantage of this all the way up until the start of the new season. While it would be nice for Infinity Ward to extend the double XP weekend, it’s hard seeing the company do that, as it never has before. Still, this is the last chance players will be able to do this before the start, so they should clear their schedules if they need to grind.
Double XP weekends are always a great addition to everyCall of Dutygame and this one is no different. Giving players a chance to finish off this season with a bang is always a good thing too, especially with the amount of content in the game right now. Except for those that play this game to an insane degree, chances are the average player isn’t at max rank yet and hasn’t unlocked the exclusive gun variant yet. While anextra day or so of double XP forCall of Duty: Modern Warfarewould have been greatly appreciated, it’s hard to complain about double XP under most circumstances. Here’s hoping there are more double XP events during season 4 of the game’s post-launch lifecycle.
