Industries of Titanis a very peculiarcity-building sim gamethat breaks many subgenres when it comes to its gameplay mechanics. One of its most welcoming moves is the subplot, where players can move into buildings, micromanage resources, build infrastructure inside factories, and streamline the logistics routes.

However, the most fascinating area in its gameplay opens up upon unlocking the Shipyard. The Shipyard is where spaceships are built, and it’s definitely different from the usualRTS pay-one-build-one type. Instead, the game lets players design every ship in their air fleet, which is too good to resist. But there are a few things to remember while getting into it and a few points to look out for.
How To Build A Spaceship
Before taking the city into a shipbuilding empire, it’s necessary to take into account the costs. These pointers are vital as the shipbuilding affair takes a toll on the stockpile, manpower, and credits safely stored in the vault.
Unlocking the shipyard costs around 1000 credits, and building one would require more minerals and isotopes than one could imagine. Therefore, make sure that there are enough gathering locations, ore processing plants, and enough stockpiles before getting into the process.

Preparing The Hull
Upon entering the Shipyard, the first task is to find thebest ship. There are a lot of blueprints to choose from, and most of them come down to the resources at hand and the efficiency in using them. Apart from the resources, high-level ships can be unlocked with an upgrade to the Shipyard.
Once the hull is chosen, the usual construction process starts, with the workers bringing in the required Minerals and Isotopes as required by theship’s blueprint. If the city is short on workers, one can convert more or temporarily prioritize the ship construction in the workforce tab. Upon meeting the requirements, the Shipyard completes the construction of the hull and moves on to the interior design. This is where things get tricky.

Offense And Defense
The next step is to lay down the offense and defense mechanisms of the ship. Again, prioritizing this would be wise before setting up the power and fuel as it gives a good understanding of the total draw numbers to which the generators and batteries can match up.
Having multiple smaller laser cannons to one large laser canon is more viable as it increases efficiency and reload times not to forget the space efficiency). Regarding the laser shields, it is essential to note the grids that cover the surroundings. Important structures like lasers, med bays, and power sources are the primary structures that must be shielded from an enemy attack. So it is good to spread them across the area of the ship to cover the current structures and those that come after.

Fuel And Engine
Fuel and engine are the key components to have a working ship and get it afloat. Unfortunately, the game forces the players to set them up first rather than to get an optimal design underway. Therefore, taking care of them at the second last step is the right way to go about it.
Like the fuel generators on the ground, the ship’s fuel generators convert from the Xethane composition in the atmosphere. Therefore, two small fuel convertors or one medium converter would be enough for a primary ship. However, the trick is saving fuel as the possibility of the ship entering an area devoid of any Xethane is highly probable. Therefore, having as many fuel storage cans as possible would be wise.

Next is setting up the engine. The engine is the central part that makes a ship what it is and without it, the spaceship would just be a power source factory on the ground. One engine is all it takes for the vessel to make its voyage, but the game doesn’t show that the ship’s commute speed increases with every available add-on engine. Also, any additional engine is a safe bet for backups during combat, as one failing engine doesn’t hamper much with the ship’s movement. Finally, spreading the engines around the vessel ensures enemies have no single spot to target and buys enough hit points until the ship becomes obsolete with its movements.
Power Batteries And Nodes
Once the fuel parts are taken care of, converting them to power is essential. They work the same way as setting up the power grids on the ground. A few power generators, a few batteries to store them up, and nodes tospread the powerthrough wireless energy, are all that players need.

Having a couple of power generators should be enough, but the batteries are big and need to be spread across the vessel. A powered-out ship in the middle of combat is as good as dead. The batteries are one of the main components that keep the ship’s power in check, and even at times help bring them back for repairs. Also, it is vital to make sure that the nodes are efficiently placed so that every structure requiring power gets it.
Crew And Medbays
The last and final step would be to set up the crew stations and the requirements. Most of the ship works by itself. The Lasers are the only ones that require an exclusive crew member to handle them manually. However, other tasks require their expertise.
During combat, breakdowns to the ship’s internal structures such as fuel and power generators, batteries, tanks, or anything inside the ship require a crew member’s attention. Each crew pod houses one member, and the more, the merrier. The need for life support comes with the inclusion of life on board the ship. Each life support system supports up to three crew members. Having a couple of med bays to heal injured crew members is optional but can do wonders for the team’s efficiency.
