Best Light Cone

Back to All Characters

Hook is a Destruction character inHonkai: Star Rail, with a unique skill set that can be played in different ways based on player preferences. Her main focus is on inflicting Burn, allowing the team to consistently deal damage with her, whether she is used as a main DPS or sub-DPS. She is particularly useful in mono-fire teams for burn andtoughness break-focused teams, especially whenpaired with other characters like Himekoand Asta. In these teams, players can prioritize her Break Effect over other stats like ATK and Crit, which can provide interesting advantages, especially in the early game.

Fortunately, players who want to build Hook inHonkai: Star Railhave a wide range of light cones to choose from, and many of them are accessible to free-to-play players, making them more readily available to all. When selecting light cones for Hook, it is generally recommended to prioritize those that enhance her damage and attack, as she primarily scales with the ATK stat.

5Collapsing Sky

Although it is only a 3-star light cone, Collapsing Sky proves to be an excellent choice for players who are looking for a budget-friendly option and do not have access to higher-rarity light cones. While it does not offer any specific benefits for Hook’s Ultimate, it can greatly enhance her Basic ATK and Skill DMG when max superimposed, which is relatively easy to achieve due to its lower rarity. This is particularly valuable for Hook, as she can follow up her Ultimate with an Enhanced Skill, effectively benefitting from the damage boost provided by this light cone.

4The Moles Welcome You

The Moles Welcome You features Hook in its artwork, leading some players to believe it is her best light cone option. However, this is not entirely true, although it is her top 4-star gacha option and works well for her. Surprisingly, the effectiveness of this light cone can be misunderstood due to its poorly worded translation, potentially misleading some players. The truth is that the effect of this light cone only stacks up to 3 times, with each stack obtained by using Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate once, respectively. It grants Hook an ATK boost of up to 36% without any superimposition. Therefore, players interested in using this light cone should focus on utilizing each of these abilities early in the battle to quickly reach the maximum number of stacks.

3Woof! Walk Time!

Woof! Walk Time! is an excellent 4-star light cone option for Hook, especially because it is a completely F2P choice that can be obtained through various methods, primarily from the Forgotten Hall’s Light Cone Store aftercollecting enough Lucent Afterglow. What makes this light cone ideal for Hook is its ability to not only increase her ATK but also her DMG when the enemy is afflicted with Burn or Bleed, which is easily achievable with her skill that has a 100% chance to apply Burn to targets. Additionally, it enhances the damage from her abilities and boosts the effectiveness of her DoT, making her an even more formidable DoT dealer.

2Something Irreplaceable

Clara’s signature light cone, Something Irreplaceable, is also a good choice for Hook due to its high stat values, ATK boost, healing capabilities, and DMG boost when Hook is hit or defeats an opponent. However, it is worth noting that while it is an ideal choice, players who are focused on optimizing Hook’s damage and do not already have this light cone or a more suitable character like Clara should prioritize F2P options instead. These options can be more effective without significant investment in the light cone. Nevertheless, for those who already own Something Irreplaceable, it can be a great option to equip Hook with.

1On the Fall of an Aeon

Herta’s Store, which usesHerta Bonds obtained from the Simulated Universe, offers another excellent F2P option for Hook: the best 5-star light cone for her, On the Fall of an Aeon. This light cone is particularly valuable when Hook is built with Break Effect, as it enhances her damage after depleting the toughness meter. It synergizes well with her high weakness break in the right setup. However, if players are interested in building other Destructioncharacters like Physical Trailblazer, they may want to use On the Fall of an Aeon on them instead and equip Hook with Woof! Walk Time!

Honkai Star Railis available now on Mobile and PC, with a PS5 version launching in Q4 2023.
