AlthoughHarry Potterfans loveHogwarts Legacyfor its faithful and detailed rendition of the Hogwarts castle, the open world in this game features a lot more than just the famous School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. During their adventure, players get a chance to explore many of the areas surrounding Hogwarts and get a taste of what the Wizarding World is like outside of school.
In total,Hogwarts Legacyfeatures eight sizable regions, with each one featuring various hamlets. In these tiny villages, players can find merchants, side quests, and all sorts of collectibles. Although they’re all quite visually similar, not all hamlets are equal. They differ in terms of the number of major collectibles, quest givers, and secrets to be uncovered.

11Lower Hogsfield
Seeing as it is the Hamlet located closest to the Hogwarts castle, it is also one of the first overworld locationsHogwarts Legacyplayers will visit. It is not the most populated village in the game, as there are only three Collection Chests and a single Demiguise Statue to be found there.

Some of the most notable quests that players will embark upon in Lower Hogsfield are the beginning of Natty Onai’s questline, as well as “Trials of Merlin,” which unlocks access to all the 96 Merlin Trial puzzles gamers need to solve in order to achieve 100% completion.
10Pitt-upon-Ford
Located in the southernmost area of the Woodlands region, Pitt-upon-Ford is one of the duller hamlets inHogwarts Legacyin terms of things to do. It boasts four Collection Chests, one Demiguise Statue, and a Field Guide Page.
One of the most notable things about this village is merchant Indira Wolff, who has a hefty collection of fantastic beast-sourced ingredients. Alongside Brood and Peck in Hogsmeade, it is the go-to place for players who want to obtain the parts required for vital equipment upgrades without having to catch and tend to the beasts in the Vivarium.

9Bainburgh
Home to the abandoned manor the Hamlet itself was named after, Bainburgh is located in the picturesque Manor Cape region, one of the southernmost areas of the map. It contains four Collection Chests and one Demiguise statue, as well as a single Field Guide page.

Bainburgh is home to the “Rescuing Rococo” side quest, in which players find and save Rococo, Agnes Coffey’s pet nibbler. Resolving the quest doesn’t just grant players a cash reward and XP. The mission also guides them to Henrietta’s Hideaway, a secret location that holds a map that is central to another side quest, “Solved by the Bell.”
8Keenbridge
Named after a non-existent bridge that’s supposed to link individuals with their true love, the Keenbridge Hamlet doesn’t have any side quests. However, it does contain the largest number of collectibles of all the wizard villages in the Highlands, with four Collection Chests, three Field Guide Pages, and a Demiguise Statue to boot.
Keenbridge has only one Hamlet shop, which doesn’t have much to offer besides a few magical ingredients and a couple of Wiggenweld Potions. However, it feels more hand-crafted compared to other Hamlets inHogwarts Legacy. Its pleasant atmosphere makes for a nice change of pace after hours of chasing down Dark Wizards and exploring the treacherous areas surrounding it.

7Cragcroft
Like the majority of Hamlets inHogwarts Legacy,Cragcroft contains four Collection Chests for players to find, as well as a Demiguise Statue hidden behind an unlocked door in one of the village’s few houses. There is also a Field Guide Page in the Hamlet, placed in front of a big tree in the center of the town.
As far as side quests are concerned, there is only one of them in Cragcroft. “Sacking Selwyn” has the main character infiltrate the Ashwinder-held Clagmar Castle and eliminate Silvanus Selwyn in order to stop the Ashwinders from harassing Cragcroft’s residents.

6Irondale
Located in the southeastern parts of the Feldcroft region, Irondale is a hillside town that borders the South Sea Bog. As all other Hamlets, it’s a tiny village inhabited entirely by wizards. Players will find three Collection Chests and one Demiguise statue hidden in Irondale’s houses, and a Field Guide page at the base of the town’s sole windmill.

One of the more interesting quests in Irondale is “A Thief in the Night,” given by Padraic Haggarty. It entails following a trail of gold coins in pursuit of a thief, suspected to be the questgiver’s own sister, only to find out that crime was actually carried out by the most unlikely of suspects.
5Upper Hogsfield
Much like its counterpart, Lower Hogsfield, Upper Hogsfield was named by its residents because of how close it is located to Hogsmeade. It is home to one Field Guide page hidden inside one of the houses next to barrels containing Pumpkin Fizz. There are also four Collection Chests and one Demiguise Statue that, if found, will bring players closer to the coveted Platinum trophy.
One can also find two side quests in Upper Hogsfield. “Breaking Camp” is a fairly basic task that requires players to clear out two goblin camps near the village.“Brother’s Keeper” is a more interesting side mission that has the main character uncover the mystery behind the disappearance of Claire Beaumont’s brother, who was known to dabble with dark magic.

4Brocburrow
Brocburrow is known in the Wizarding World as the birthplace of Helen Thistlewood, a famous Auror who was a major part of the Hufflepuff-exclusive “Prisoner of Love” side quest. The Hamlet holds four Collection Chests, a single Demiguise Statue, and a Field Guide page that shines light on how enchanted scarecrows work.
The Hamlet is located east of Hogwarts, and boasts two basic side quests. “Kidnapped Cabbage” revolves around the recovery of missing cabbage crates as a favor to Eddie Thistlewood, the town’s only shopkeeper. “Troll Control” has the player eliminate a troll that Alexandra Ricketts tried to befriend in order to protect the Hamlet from Ranrok’s Loyalists.

3Marunweem
The fishing Hamlet of Marunweem is one of the larger wizard settlements inHogwarts Legacy, and it boasts a larger number of Collection Chests than any other village of its kind. It’s right next to the Marunweem Lake, a picturesque location that holds numerous Treasure Vaults, Astronomy Tables, and Ancient Magic Hotspots.

“Birds of a Feather” is the sole side quests in Marunweem. It has the main character locate and rescue an incredibly rare Diricawl named Gwyneira, who was captured by Poachers.
2Aranshire
Aranshire is a Hamlet on the edge of the Forbidden Forest, which at the time ofHogwarts Legacyis dealing with a spider infestation caused by the presence of an Absconder near the village. The infestation and the creature responsible for it lie at the center of “Absconder Encounter,” a side quest that features one of the toughest boss fights in the game.
Aside from the Absconder quest, Aranshire contains four Collection Chests, a Demiguise Statue and a Field Guide page next to the village’s only shop.
