Despite being animated by the same studio that broughtNetflix’sCastlevaniaseries, viewers will notice the lack of blood and gore in theMasters of the Universe: Revelationtrailer, which shows the studios' diverse talent set and the show’s marketability to younger viewers. By making the combat “cleaner,” the show becomes more accessible, which will serve to its benefit if it hopes to get new fans.

TheMasters of the Universe: Revelationtrailer shows big, grand fight scenes, lots of magic, and sword combat that fans of the series are very well accustomed to. It’s also worth noting that just because there’s no gore in the trailer doesn’t mean that there won’t be any in the show at all. It also doesn’t mean the combat scenes are inferior to the likes ofCastlevania, since combat can still be worth watching if it’s clean.Shows likeTeen Titans, Young Justice, and even some shonen anime don’t rely on blood, gore, or shock factor to make the fight scenes dope.

It’s nice to see a series that many would have called “long-forgotten” make its return in a much more modern format. There’s nothing holding this series back because this is the first venture intothe world of He-Manfor many, while others will be taking a nice trip down memory lane under a much more improved lens.

It’s always hard to predict how reboots or revivals will do in terms of the old fans and new viewers. Let’s hope this show proves that the ancient relics of the past are worth bringing to the younger fanbase. Who knows? MaybeMasters of the Universe: Revelationcan even bring new viewers over the original ’80s series, which they may have been missing out on.
