Pupa Leather is one of the most important components involved in Tier III items as it’s used to craft the Tier III hammer, as well as an array of strong weaponsand beefy armor. Players that want to survive the Upper Yard need to get their hands on this material as soon as possible. Here’s all adventurers need to know about how to create Pupa Leather and what exactly it’s used for inGrounded.
Where To Find Pupa Hide In Grounded
To create Pupa Leather, players will first need to get their hands on Pupa Hide. Much like Berries, Pupa can be found hanging from certain structures and can actually be knocked down with a bow or other projectile. Pupa are not hostile and act more like a node that can be harvested.Players will need access to the Tier III Termite Axe toolif they want to gather Pupa hides from the creatures. The Scythe of Blossoms or Sour Battle-axe can also be used to gather the material.
Although Pupa can be found in certain cliff-based areas in the Upper Grasslands, the best place to find them is beneath the deck of the Large Shed located in the northern part of the backyard. Players should be careful when attempting to find and gather Pupa as there aremany aggressive and powerful bugs that roam the areas of the Upper Yard.

How To Make Pupa Leather In Grounded
Once players have collected Pupa Hides, they can turn them into Pupa Leather. The easiest and fastest way is to find a workbench and simply piece them together. Players can unlock the appropriate recipe by using the Analyzer on a Pupa Hide. Although this method is quick, it takes approximately five Pupa Hides just to make one piece of Pupa Leather. Thankfully, there is a much more economical method, but it will require the player to wait a bit for the results.
If players place a single Pupa Hide on a Jerky Rack, it will transform into a piece of Pupa Leather over time. This means players can get five pieces of Pupa Leather fromusing the Jerky Rack, but only get a single paltry piece from using the Workbench for the same amount of materials. Because of this, and the fact that it can be difficult toharvest some Pupa Hide nodes in the Upper Yard, players should definitely build a Jerky Rack to create their Pupa Leather.
