During today’s Gearbox E3 broadcast, the publisher revealed new details about several of its biggest projects, teasing new details aboutTiny Tina’s Wonderlandsand theBorderlandsmovie. Alongside the sneak peeks, the publisher provided an update onGodfall,most notably confirming a PlayStation 4 port for the title will launch this summer. However, the segment also confirmed a new expansion is coming, with the add-on titledFire and Darkness.
The upcoming DLC will launch on August 10 and will offer fans the chance to venture into a new part ofGodfall’sworld. According to Senior Technical Producer Dick Heyne, the story content will take players to the Fire Realm for the first time, where they’ll discover new enemies, challenging bosses, cosmetics, and more.

Alongside the add-on, Counterplay Games confirmed the title will be getting a free update titledLightbringer. Heyne said the addition will see players face new threats attacking Imperion, with their reward for defeating these enemies being a new type of loot. The senior technical producer reveals that pieces of this loot will require players to overcome challenges to dispel a curse and “awaken them.” The free update also comes loaded with all-new cosmetic items, which Counterplay Games highlights during the trailer.
Finally, Heyne announced that the team will officially be adding matchmaking to the game, ensuring players struggling with certain parts ofGodfallcan call in backup at any time. The addition has long been requested by fans, with the title currently only allowing players to hop into co-op action with their friends. Fans ofGodfallare sure to be happy that the feature is on its way, especially withCounterplay Gamesimplementing more challenging battles throughLightbringerandFire and Darkness. Regardless, It appears support for the game will continue for the foreseeable future.
The update onGodfallwas one of the Gearbox E3 stream’s final announcements, closing out a day filled with plenty of surprises. Ubisoft kicked off the event, revealing trailers forRainbow Six: Extraction, Far Cry 6,Riders Republic,andJust Dance 2022.The publisher also pulled back the curtain on some new projects, includingMario + Rabbids: Sparks of HopeandAvatar: Frontiers of Pandora.Devolver Digital later followed up the Ubisoft stream, offering early looks ata cinematic samurai experience known asTrek to Yomiand a procedurally generated, online adventure game calledPhantom Abyss.
Godfallis out now on PC and PlayStation 5, with a PlayStation 4 version launching on August 10.
