Summary

When it comes to intense combat, epic boss fights, and relentless action, it’s hard to do better than theGod of Warfranchise. With its new semi-open world format, there’s a lot of traversal that Kratos has to go through, whether its crossing bodies of water or climbing mountains. It’s a break from the action, but it may be boring to some players.

As the scope of theGod of Wargames gets bigger, there will be more traveling to do, which poses a problem for players who don’t like the traversal aspects of the franchise. This problem could be solved by giving Kratos a mount to speed things up. The best part is that there is already content to work with.

The Mounts of God of War Ragnarok

The Nine Realms are vast, and there is a lot of traveling to do. Fortunately, Atreus and Kratos don’t always have to be on foot. At several points, there are beasts used as temporary mounts to get from point A to B. Throughout the game, the following beasts can be used for travel:

The Boats of God of War Ragnarok

When there’s a need to cross large bodies of water, there is usually a boat nearby that can be used by Kratos. While rowing, treasures can be collected. Kratos is also given a boat namedSkidbladnir which originally belonged to Freyr. The boat is capable of flight.

Kratos Needs a Permanent Mount

It’s useful that at many points inGod of War Ragnarok, there are mounts to ride. However, it doesn’t change the fact that a lot of time is spent traveling on foot or climbing almost identical mountains. On the one hand, it gives players a chance to admire the gorgeous scenery. On the other hand, it can get tedious, especially for players who are itching for combat.

What Mounts are Available for Kratos?

In the nextGod of Wargame, Kratos should have a permanent mount to call on that will make traversal faster.Angrboda the giant, with her yak and fox, demonstrates how useful it is to have a mount that can be used at any time. One of the best options for Kratos would be a kelpie, as it can travel on both land and water. This would leave only mountains to tackle on foot. Alternatively, Kratos should be able to use Skidbladnir more often, as the boat could serve as a flying mode of transport.

It’s hard to predict what the next entry in theGod of Warfranchise will bring, or if Kratos will even be the main protagonist. However, the problem of excessive traversal will emerge nonetheless. With the right mount, traveling between locations will be less of a chore.
