How to Start ‘The Tale of Ryuzo’ in Ghost of Tsushima
To begin “The Tale of Ryuzo,” players must complete ‘Blood on the Grass.’ Jin, who has not seen Ryuzo since before the invasion began, will learn of his friend’s new place within the mercenary band. Upon completing the quest, Jin will earn a set ofRonin Armor, and a promise from Ryuzo that, as long as Jin helps them find food, he will help Jin rescue his uncle. This sets up “The Tale of Ryuzo.”
Objectives:
To begin the quest in earnest, Jin must meet Ryuzo and his band of Straw Hat Ronin at a small cemetery near Tsushima’s western coast. The cemetery rests above the very fort that Jin and Ryuzo plan to rob.
Help Ryuzo Raid Fort Ohira
OnceJin and Ryuzo finish their brief conversation, they will head down to examine the fort.
As the warriors approach the outskirts of the fort, they will very clearly state that, at this moment, they can likely handle the Mongols manning the place, but if any reinforcements were to arrive, they’d be in trouble. Because of this, the player cannot allow any alarms to be raised.

Attack the Fort:
Players can see the lighthouse that houses the alarm as they head down the hill from the cemetery. Once at the base of the hill, look for a fallen tree that allows Jin to get over the wall without raising any alarm.
From the roof of the building, stay to the right and look straight at the lighthouse. There is a clear path that Jin can take to the rear of the building. There will be a single Mongol archer that must be dealt with.

Once behind the building, look for the small space that Jin can slip between. When close, he will get the ‘squeeze through’ prompt. Remain quiet while approaching the first ladder, as there is a small group of Mongols near the entrance. There will also be a single Mongol at the top of the first ladder, completely unaware and open for assassination, as long as Jin does not alarm him. If done properly, Jin can make it to the top of the lighthouse without causing any kind of commotion.
Once at the top of the lighthouse, look for a small group of what looks like fireworks. This is the alarm system that must be disabled before continuing with the mission.

After disabling the alarm, look inside the tower to find a small brazier. It will have a prompt over it that, when engaged with, will light the main fire, signaling to the others that the attack can commence.
Once given the signal, the Straw Hat Ronin will storm the fort, attacking the Mongols with everything they’ve got. Join them in fighting to continue to the mission.

There are a considerable amount of enemies concentrated in a small area, so players may struggle with completing this section. If overwhelmed, remember to utilize every tool that Jin has available. Starting from the base of the lighthouse, try using the bow to remove archers from the field. Utilize Ghost Weapons, such as the kunai.

Help Ryuzo Attack the Mongolian Fleet
Head to the edge of the cliff with Ryuzo to survey the Mongolian ships. Look for the ‘survey’ prompt right at the edge. After looking over all the options, Ryuzo will send his men to the opposite cliffs to draw the Mongol’s attention in the wrong direction.
Follow the guide points the game displays to lead Ryuzo down the hill. When they are about halfway down, a cutscene will automatically begin, which shows Ryuzo signal his men to being the next phase of the raid.

Jin and Ryuzo must make their way from the hill, down to the boat that will allow them to retrieve food from offshore. Before heading down, Jin can use his bow to take out some of the archers directly below.
Once Jin makes it to the beach, it will no longer be an issue if he is seen. He will have to fight his way to the boat, but it will not be an automatic fail. If he chooses, he can grab the Mongolian Artifact hanging from the pole in the center of the battle area. It is just past the tents off the main path to the exit.

Whether by stealth, or by combat, Jin and Ryuzo will take the boat out to the ships at sea.
Help Ryuzo Raid the Mongol Ships
When Jin interacts with the rowboat, it will automatically transport he and Ryuzo out to the ships anchored off the coast. Here, Jin and Ryuzo will play out the final part of the mission.
There will be several piles of junk for Jin to search through. On the first ship, the entire enterprise will be futile. Head back and meet Ryuzo when the search is complete. As they talk, they will hear Mongols outside the cabin.

Defeat the enemies on the first ship, then use the ramp to get to the second ship. When the leader is killed on the second ship, Ryuzo and Jin will split up.
Head across the next ramp to reach the third ship. Once on board, Jin must search the cabin for food. There will be several enemies on both the upper and lower levels. There will also be the distinct sound of a very unhappy animal. If Jin reaches the end of the top level and looks out over the front deck, he’ll see a Mongol standing in front of a caged bear. Shoot the lock and let the bear do the hard work. It should take care of at least a few Mongols.

Once the enemies are defeated, Jin will notice there is no food on this ship either. Look for the scroll on the desk in the main cabin. Pick it up to advance the mission.
As Jin enters the Cabin back on the second ship, he’ll hear that Ryuzo is clearly fighting out front. Head out to help him. Watch out for the powerful enemy, he can kill with one swing of his weapon. As Jin and Ryuzo talk, anotherMongol ship appears and begins firing flaming arrows. It is clear this mission is doomed. Jump of the ship to escape the flames. Jin and Ryuzo will have a final conversation before Ryuzo agrees to join Jin’s rescue attempt. This will bring the mission to an end.
