The weekly Spiral Abyss activity serves asGenshin Impact’smain source of endgame content. Various floors and chambers may be completed for rewards such as Primogems, rare artifacts, and Mora. Overperforming in timed Spiral Abyss challenges awards the player with Abyssal Stars, which may be used to redeem an additional bounty of Primogems. Spiral Abyss modifiers and rewards are regularly refreshed within the duration of aGenshin Impactupdate, causing players to rethink their approach to the endgame activity with a different team composition.

Genshin Impactplayer FentonFred completedfloor 12 of the Spiral Abyssand obtained all nine Abyssal Stars with teams consisting of underleveled 4-star characters. After several defeats in prior Spiral Abyss activities, the user decided to level up Xingqiu, Bennett, and Xiangling to level 90 in order to deal more damage and clear the timed challenges. FentonFred describes the process of completing the Spiral Abyss as “absolute pain” due to multiple restarts, but the user was able to complete all three chambers within floor 12 in roughly 30 minutes.
The level disparity posed a great challenge due to lower stats and weaker damage output while controlling a level 80 character. As a result, underleveled characters such as Beidou and Sucrose were supported by level 90 characters like Yaoyao, Fischl, and Xingqiu. Additionally, the user confirms that several of theseGenshin Impactcharacters have multiple constellation abilities unlocked, allowing them to perform more favorably in Spiral Abyss when compared to their base 4-star versions.
Completing the final floor of the Spiral Abyss with level 80 characters is no small feat. ManyGenshin Impactplayers prefer to approach the endgame activity with5-star characters like Nahida and Kaedehara Kazuhadue to their superior abilities. However, FentonFred may prove to newer players that it’s possible to complete this difficult activity with common 4-star characters.
Genshin Impactversion 4.0will introduce new characters from the Fontaine region later this summer. The Spiral Abyss is expected to feature new artifacts as a potential reward from chamber clears, so players will have another incentive for completing the weekly activity following the launch of the 4.0 update.
Genshin Impactis available now for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A Nintendo Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
