Genshin ImpactVersion 3.8launched on July 5 as the final major update for the Sumeru region. The limited-time Veluriyam Mirage area is available with several mini-games to complete and treasure chests to discover. Additionally, Eula, Klee, and other popularGenshin Impactcharacters are available to summon from reprised banners. New characters were not introduced in Version 3.8, but the update still gives fans an opportunity to accrue a wealthy sum of Primogems and summon beloved characters before Fontaine characters arrive in Version 4.0.

HoYoverse published a new HoYoLab blog post detailing the new “Perilous Expedition” Version 3.8 event forGenshin Impact. Starting July 27,Genshin Impactplayers may enter the Perilous Expedition domain and complete “Perilous Exploration” combat trials. These trials involve three combat rounds where players must defeat several enemies to earn rewards. Characters may be selected before each round, and a buff stack will be granted to players who use a different party of characters in each round. Four difficulty levels may be selected with “Dire” difficulty being the most challenging and yielding the most rewards.High-level Spiral Abyss team compositionsmay prove to be helpful in completing trials on the Dire difficulty.
Rewards for completing Perilous Expedition’s combat trials inGenshin Impactinclude Primogems, Mora, Hero’s Wit, and ascension materials. In order to participate in the new event, players must first complete the Song of the Dragon and Freedom Archon Quest in Mondstadt and reach Adventure Rank 20. The event will be live until August 7, soGenshin Impactplayers have only 10 days to complete combat trials and redeem rewards.
Although the new Perilous Expedition event reuses ideas from previous events,Genshin Impactplayers may prepare forVersion 4.0’s Fontaine bannersahead of time by completing trials. Sumeru activities are winding down in the second phase of Version 3.8, so this will be one of the last chances to participate in a limited-time Sumeru event before HoYoverse shifts its focus to Fontaine.
Genshin ImpactVersion 4.0is expected to release in mid-August 2023, and players can expect a new Special Program live stream that will detail the new update’s content soon. By completing Perilous Expedition and redeeming new promo codes next month,Genshin Impactfans should be well-prepared to summon new Fontaine characters to their party.
