Genshin Impacthas made changes to the splash art of their three new characters: Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet. The sibling duo Lyney and Lynette are currently featured on the Limited Character Banner which is scheduled to expire on September 5 which means that players don’t have a lot of time to add them to their roster.
The third character, Freminet, has also made multiple in-game appearances, but he has yet to officially join the playable roster. He will be a four-star character whose release is scheduled for the second half ofGenshin Impactversion 4.0.

Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet have all played an important role in the ongoing Fontaine storyline which started withGenshin Impactupdate 4.0. Even though they were all introduced as very friendly and charming characters, the recent story development has revealed a dark secret about them. During one of the recent Fontaine trials, the Hydro Archon Furina has revealed that all three of these characters came from the House of Hearts which is a famous orphanage that is run by the Fatui organization, one of the main villain factions in Genshin Impact. After this interesting revelation, HoYoverse released new introduction bios for all three characters, but fans have noticed some interesting changes. A post by Reddit user Poloroger_582 has shared an interesting image that shows the difference between the old and the new splash arts.
This is the first time HoYoverse reintroduced their characters after the story revealed that they have a much darker history than many expected. The main difference between the splash art sets is that all three characters have much sadder facial expressions. Many fans claim that they had their suspicions about the three after Lyney and Lynette were shown standingalongside the Harbinger Arlecchinoduring one of their previous Fontaine’s teasers.
Rumors claim that Lynette, along with a number of other orphans was actually rescued from captivity by Arlecchino. The official storyline has previously confirmed that thisHarbinger runs the House of Hearts orphanage, and she comes from the Hydro nation which is probably the reason why HoYoverse decided to make her one of the main villains of this Archon Quest.
However, a big part of the community still believes that she will swap to the good side which could allowArlecchino to join the playable rosterin the future. This would not come as a surprise considering that HoYoverse has already introduced two Harbinbers, Tartaglia and Wanderer, as playable characters.
