Right at the start of Chapter 4 Season 3, manyFortniteplayers noticed that there was a lack of mobility items this season. Vehicles aren’t necessarily a bad way to move through the map and Raptors being unvaulted certainly gives players a quick way to walk through the jungle, but none of these options are as practical as an inventory mobility item that players can simply take with them.

After taking note of player feedback, Epic Games unvaulted Shockwave Grenades with update 25.10, so they can now, once again, be found in the battle royale game mode. This guide will help players find Shockwave Grenades inFortnite, and it’ll also show them how to properly take advantage of them.

Where to Get Shockwave Grenades

Shockwave Grenades were added toFortniteback in Chapter 1, and since then, they’ve been vaulted and unvaulted quite a few times. For the past couple of seasons, there has always been an abundance of mobility items inFortnite, which means Shockwave would’ve been used mostly as a gimmick rather than a useful way to move around the island.

Since every mobility item has now been removed, players have found themselves needing Shockwave Grenades like never before. Unfortunately, it can be quite difficult to obtain this item in-game due to itsEpic rarity.InFortnite, Shockwave Grenades can be found as regular floor loot, but they can also be found inside chests and rare chests. There are tons of items and weapons inFortniteChapter 4 Season 3, so high-rarity items such as these have a lower chance of spawning.

Unfortunately, Shockwave Grenades are only available inFortniteBattle Royale Zero Build Mode.

How to Use Shockwave Grenades

Shockwave Grenades are powerful impulse grenades that, upon explosion, push away everything that’s nearby, but they also provide aHop Rock effect, which prevents the player from suffering fall damage.

Learning how to properly use a Shockwave Grenade is all about figuring out at which angle the player will be thrown in order to calculate, more or less, where they’ll end up after the explosion.

If players throw the Shockwave Grenade straight at their feet, they’ll be propelled directly upward into the air. But, in orderto move forward with it as much as possible, gamers need to be as far away from the Shockwave Grenade as possible while remaining within its borders upon explosion. To do this right, players can throw the Shockwave Grenade at their feet while they are running; the few seconds that it takes to detonate are enough for players to move away without leaving the area.

Using a Shockwave Grenade with theSoaring Sprints Reality Augmentcreates an even more powerful jump boost.

Shockwave Grenades can also be used against an opponent. If aimed correctly at the right time, gamers can actually throw an enemy player back in the storm. This will confuse the other player and start dealing damage immediately. This is a particularly useful strategy in the late game when the storm is especially damaging.

Fortniteis available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
