Fortnitehas begun Week 6 of its Chapter 3 Season 4, bringing with it a fresh batch of quests for players to complete in exchange for large amounts of XP. Beyond the standard weekly quests,Fortnitehas released another batch of Fortnitemares quests, one of which requires players to destroy several jack-o-lanterns around the island.
The infinitely popular free-to-play battle royale title by Epic Games kicked off its annual Halloween festivities last week.The Fortnitemares 2022 eventhas added a variety of new and returning content to the game, including candy, the Pumpkin Launcher, the new Howler Claws, and more. The Fortnitemares update also added an eclectic mix of new skins, including iconicEvil Deadprotagonist Ash Williams and Mr. Meeseeks and Summer fromRick and Morty.

Where to Find Jack-o-Lanterns
Players must find and destroy a total of five jack-o-lanterns around the island and must do so with a ranged weapon. While the pumpkins are easily destroyed with a single shot, the hardest part of this quest is tracking enough jack-o-lanterns down in the first place. The carved pumpkins are scattered fairly randomly across the map, with only about four named locations containing multiple: Greasy Grove, Tilted Towers, Shiny Sound, and Fort Jonesy. Considering the first two are landing hotspots, theplayer’s best shot to destroy five jack-o-lanterns with a ranged weapon is by landing at Shiny Sound or Fort Jonesy.
Both locations are usually less hectic than the other two mentioned, and both have the required amount of jack-o-lanterns in their respective vicinities. Optimally, the ideal location is Fort Jonesy, as there are four jack-o-lanterns already within the POI. A pair can be found at the southern end of the Shrouded Settlement landmark to the southeast, with another three sitting around Sunburned Shacks to the northeast. Of course, players will first need to find a ranged weapon like the Hunter Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle orthe new Cobra DMR.
Once a total of five jack-o-lanterns have been destroyed with a ranged weapon, the quest will be complete.Fortniteplayers can then go on to tackle the remainder of the latest Fortnitemares quests, like gaining a speed boost by eating a Pepper Mint candy orthrowing candy from a vehicle, which will likely be the last Fortnitemares quests for this year.
Considering that Fortnitemares 2022 ends after Halloween, players have just a few days to complete the remainder of the seasonal quests. It’s also nearly certain that themed items like the Pumpkin Launcher andthe powerful Howler Clawswill be vaulted next week, so players should be sure to take advantage while they still can.
