It seems as thoughFortnitemay be getting a skin based on the DC Comics villain Black Manta in a future update. This is the prevailing theory among fans after seeing the outline of a leaked skin for the upcomingChapter 2 Season 3.
While it’s entirely possible that the newFortniteskin is some other character entirely, there is no denying that the outline does resemble Black Manta, particularly the shape of his helmet. While it may seem random forFortniteto have a Black Manta skin in the game, there is actually another reason to believe why it may be happening.
RELATED:Fortnite Leak Suggests Map is Getting Flooded
The various leaks and rumors surroundingFortniteSeason 3 suggest that it will see the entire battle royale map flooded. Furthermore, leakers have suggested that this will coincide with an Aquaman crossover of some kind, complete with anAquaman skin. It’s possible that this will mimic the Deadpool crossover that dominatedFortnitethis past season, or it may be a bit more limited in scope. In any case, if the Aquaman leaks are correct, then it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see his archnemesis Black Manta added to the battle royale game as well.
If Aquaman and Black Manta are coming toFortniteas rumored, it wouldn’t be the first time the popular battle royale game has crossed over with DC Comics. In the past,Fortnitehad a rather substantial crossover with Batman that added a variety ofBatman-themed cosmetic itemsto the game and also transformed a portion of the battle royale map into Gotham City. Considering this, perhaps Aquaman’s city of Atlantis will be featured in the newFortniteseason, especially if the map is flooded and the game has more underwater content as has been rumored.
WhileFortnitehas had crossover events with DC Comics characters, there’s no denying that it has had more substantial crossovers with Marvel. This has included multiple limited-time events, like one that allowed players to transform intoThanos and wield the Infinity Gauntletin-game.
FortniteChapter 2 Season 2is expected to come to an end on Saturday, June 6 at 11:00am PT, and the start of Season 3 shouldn’t be far behind. Considering this,Fortnitefans shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to find out if there’s any truth to these Aquaman rumors or not.
Fortniteis out now for iOS, Android, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are also in development.
