A new Iron Man skin appears to have leaked forFortnite, but it may have some unique context behind its release. Marvel and Epic Games have a unique partnership that’s now been going on for years. That partnership has led to a significant number of skins from Marvel properties being released inFortnite, as well as major in-game events. It’s no surprise that a new Iron Man skin would come toFortnite, but this one’s relation to the ongoingFortnite x Marvel: Zero Warcomic makes it unique.Fortnite x Marvel: Zero Waris the first full comic collaboration between the two companies.Marveldid reference an ongoingFortniteevent in multiple comics in 2020, but the Zero War takes the partnership to an entirely different level. Not only are bothFortniteand Marvel characters featured inFortnite x Marvel: Zero War, but purchasing the individual issues provides rewards that can be claimed inFortnite. The skin features a bulkier Iron Man suit, with a helmet that can be opened to reveal the usual Iron Man helmet within. Included in the decrypted Iron Man Zero pack is a Repulsor Pack back bling, a Bladed Gauntlet pickaxe, and a Zero War Frontlines loading screen.

Since theFortnite x Marvel: Zero Warcomic was announced, Marvel has promised that those who purchase all five issues of the comic miniseries will receive a special skin, which had yet to be revealed. It makes a lot of sense that Iron Man Zero will be that skin. That hasn’t been confirmed, though. It’s entirely possible that Iron Man Zero will just be a related skin. Either way, it should be made available for sale throughFortnite’s storeeventually.

Those interested in the rewards provided through theFortnite x Marvel: Zero Warcrossover can either pick up all five issues from their local comic shop, or read them through Marvel Unlimited starting September 28. The rewards include aSpider-Man skin, an Iron Man weapon wrap, a Wolverine pickaxe, a Zero War spray, and a Zero War loading screen, as well as the yet-to-be-confirmed bonus skin.

It would be easy forMarvel andFortniteto continue releasing skins of various superheroes and villains and profiting wildly off of it. That the collaborations continue to go the extra level, tying into gameplay inFortniteand comic for Marvel, keeps the collaboration fun and interesting. It’s still wildly profitable, but it helps make what fans purchase feel that much more valuable. Expect official news regarding the Iron Man Zero skin soon.
