Chapter 2 Season 5 ofFortnitehas brought a ton of new features to the game, from map changes, to the overall bounty hunter theme, but this season also introduced a hugenew crossover withThe Mandalorian.The Season 5 battle pass gave players instant access to the Mandalorian skin, as well as the chance to unlock aMandalorian-themed spray, banner icon, wallpaper, emoticons, a Razor Crest glider, and most notably, an in-game pet based on The Child.
In addition to this, Chapter 2 Season 5 also introduces a crash-landed Razor Crest as a POI onFortnite’s map, which gives players the chance to take on the Mandalorian himself to obtain his jetpack and Amban sniper rifle. And although the game is already ripe with content fromThe Mandalorian, it seems that more could be on the way.

Following leaks that achange could come to the Razor Crest POI,Fortniteleaker TwitchTilted posted a video of themselves using a leakedMandalorian-themed pickaxe. The pickaxe appears to be based on the Mandalorian’s Amban sniper rifle, which is already obtainable in the game as a weapon.
For the time being, it is unclear whether thisMandalorian-themed pickaxe will be officially released inFortniteor if it is just a placeholder at the moment. Either way, it seems that dataminers are able to use it inthe game, so it is functional, which may point to an eventual release. Over on Reddit, some users expressed mixed feelings, explaining that while they are happy that the Mandalorian skin may finally get a dedicated pickaxe, they would have liked to see it be the character’s Beskar spear or even the Darksaber. While nothing is confirmed, it does seem like many are leaning towards this being a placeholder for the Mandalorian’s pickaxe, as it would be rather strange to havethe Amban sniper rifleas both an obtainable weapon and a pickaxe inFortnite.
Upon the Mandalorian’s inclusion inthe battle royale game, many found it strange that Season 5 also gave theStar Warscharacter a dedicated back bling, glider, andBeskar-themed style options,but not his own pickaxe. Regardless of what kind of pickaxe is released for the bounty hunter, fans are clamoring for one either way, as it would finally complete the Mandalorian set.
FortniteChapter 2 Season 5is now well into its 6th week, but fans still have plenty of time to grind out their Battle Pass. And in the meantime, they can rest assured that more surprises will come their way as usual.
