TheFortniteStatus Twitter account shared an official notice, confirming that the development team is investigating an issue that causes players to be kicked out of matches and experience major crashes in the Desert area on PC and Switch. This issue began shortly after the release of the 30.10 update forFortniteChapter 5 Season 3on the morning of June 13. After the update launched, players on PC and Switch began to experience the aforementioned problems in the Desert area. The crashes are also affecting Xbox One players in the Desert area as well, and Epic Games has re-confirmed that it is investigating issues that are causing players to experience crashes more than usual on all platforms.

Epic Games Issues Notice About Fortnite Crashing Issues on PC and Switch

The root cause of the crashing issue has not been determined or fixed yet, but Epic Games did release a newFortniteupdate with a major fix to the game’s PC and Android versions. After installing the new update,Fortniteplayers on PC and Android should no longer run into the network connection error that can happen shortly after entering the Desert area. A subsequent update will be released for the Switch version, but Epic Games did not give an estimated time or date for whenFortniteplayers can expect the update to be released on the Switch. Epic Games also disabled the Metallica Encore Session Quests, but the ability topurchase Metallica skins inFortniteis unaffected.

The response to the notice appears to be mixed sinceFortniteplayers on Twitter are reporting a multitude of issues on all platforms. These issues include random network disconnections and not being able to be rebooted in a match. Epic Games will likely share more details with players at a later date, as the team still needs some time to address the lingering issues caused by the release of the 30.10 update.
