Halloween is nearing and with less than two weeks before the spooky holiday arrives, live-service games are starting up their holiday events. That includesFor Honor, Ubisoft’s multiplayer third-person combat game featuring knights, samurai, and Vikings as playable characters. NowFor Honorcan add another playable character type in undead Killers, as Ubisoft has announced a special Halloween collaboration with Behaviour Interactive’s horror multiplayer gameDead by Daylight.
Introducing the Survivors of the Fog event, aFor HonorandDead by Daylightcrossover event running between October 21 and November 11. Survivors of the Fog will unlock a unique version ofFor Honor’s 4v4 PvP game modeand will be available exclusively to play inFor Honor. There’s no word on whetherFor Honorcharacters will be found inDead by Daylightjust yet. Regardless, it’s a great opportunity forFor Honorplayers, both new and old, to return to the game and have some frightful fun.

Here’s how the new Survivors of the Fog game mode will work inFor Honor. Like in the traditional Dominion game mode, there will be two teams of four players vying for control of several capture points. Only, instead of each team having an army of AI-controlled warriors at their side, there will be one neutral Killer roaming the map hunting players. That Killer isDead by Daylight’s Trapper, who is bringing with them their blunt-edged sword, bear traps, and the sacrificial hooks of the Entity. Players will also be able to fight and kill the Trapper for additional points, though the Trapper will soon return.
As a reward for participating in the Survivors of the Fog event, Ubisoft is granting all players a Free Event Pass, which is asmaller version of its battle pass, for the duration of the Halloween event. Progressing through the Free Event Pass will grant players aDead by Daylight-inspired Effect, Ornament, and potentially even a Battle Outfit.
Survivors of the Fog is still ultimately a veryFor Honorexperience. Since players don’t control the Trapper, theDead by Daylightcrossover element is more thematic than a full gameplay experience. Regardless, being hunted by aDead by DaylightKillerwhile trying to play a normal 4v4 match will certainly mix things up. Whether it’s frightening or not will depend on just how strong the Trapper ends up being.
For Honorhas now been available for over four years and while it may not be a massively popular live-service game,Ubisofthas clearly gone above and beyond to create something fun for its player base this Halloween. The Survivors of the Fog event will last from Thursday, October 21, through November 11.
For Honoris available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
