Even thoughI Am Grootis an animated series, the visual effects make Diesel’s character look exactly the way he did in the films. The trailer begins with some tense music, a happy colony of tiny creatures, and a potential danger nearby. Thisturns out to be Groot, who happily introduces himself to the creatures in his traditional manner of “I am Groot.” Obviously not pleased with the intrusion, the creatures begin attacking him with what appears to be some high-tech gear. The hero of few words manages to escape in the most comical way, and this is where his adventures seem to begin.

The rest of the trailer offers fans glimpses of the five episodes in the shorts series, withGroot seemingly finding a homein the forest and learning a lot about himself. In the process, he might blow up a few explosives, don a leaf dress, and even meet a holographic version of himself. Groot seems to be living his best life in theI Am Groottrailer, and it remains to be seen where these short adventures will take him. It is also confirmed that Bradley Cooper will be returning to voice Rocket Raccoon, which means that fans can expect a cameo from Groot’s best friend.

Not a lot of details surrounding the episodes have been revealed so far, and it is unclear whetherI Am Grootwill be MCU canon or not. It is known that the shorts series is a spin-off ofGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, so perhaps the series might add elements to the lives of the Guardians. When Baby Groot andTeen Groot first appeared in the films, they became instant hits among younger fans. Considering the series is releasing soon, it might once again lead to Groot merchandise becoming popular.
