Final Fantasyis a series that has seen its fair share of spinoffs that vary in terms of quality. Thankfully,Final Fantasy Type-0was a step in the right direction, taking a look at an academy full of gifted prospects who get sucked into a wasteful war and watch life waste away around them. With the release ofFinal Fantasy Type-0 HDon PS Plus Extra, there’s no better time for fans to check out this amazing title for themselves and figure out exactly why this title was such a huge hit when it was launched on the PSP. Given the massive cast of playable characters, it’s only a given that certain squad pairings will be more optimal than others. Keeping this in mind, here are the best teams players can form inFinal Fantasy Type-0 HD.
10King, Sice, Eight
For the most part, players will be well-serviced by a team that can deal both melee and ranged damage while also having some strong magic at their disposal. This makes King, Sice, and Eight a decent trio to check out.
That being said, this trio is slightly imbalanced since they’regeared more toward dealing damage at close range. While King might use Twin Pistols, his abilities are still better for close-quarters combat, making this team fun yet slightly impractical.
9Ace, Eight, Nine
Ace isthe de facto protagonist of the gameand is great at both offense and defense, making him a pretty balanced party member. Pairing him up with a magic and melee user is the best way to make the most of his potential.
Of course, there are times when players just want to have fun bashing enemies without a care in the world. This can be made possible with Eight’s Knuckles and Nine’s Lance, allowing players to tank a ton of damage with these two characters while Ace takes potshots from the back row.
8Jack, Rem, King
Rem is one of the best party members in the game, with her Dual Daggers hitting for a ton of damage while her Manalchemy ability restores the mana of the entire party. Pairing her off with anyone is easy just because of how versatile she is.

Jack and King may not be her most optimal partners, but they surely get the job done. Just keep in mind that Jack is extremely slow in battle, and using him may be more trouble than it’s worth.
7Cater, Sice, Trey
The trio of Cater, Sice, and Trey is easily one of the most balanced and powerful ones in the game. The combination of magic, melee, and ranged attacks keeps enemies on their toes and helps players form great strategies too.
That being said, these characters can be a bit unwieldy early on,making them hard to use effectively in battle. This is especially true in the case of Sice, although players who master her moveset will be pleased with just how damaging the Scythe really is.
6Rem, Trey, Cinque
Slow melee fighters can be quite a liability if players don’t know how to use them correctly. This is why it can be pretty challenging to play as Cinque, who wields her mace so slowly it’s almost like she’s stuck in a pool of molasses.
This is why having Rem and Trey helps since they can cover for her weaknesses. After all, there’s a reason why both these characters are considered to be the best party members in the game!
5King, Machina, Deuce
Machina’s Dual Rapiers are great weapons with a fun moveset that players can mess around with. This, coupled with King’s Twin Pistols, turn most battles into a breeze.
While Deuce might not be great at dealing damage in the party, he more than makes up for it with his buffs and support skills.Veterans ofFinal Fantasy Type-0know just how valuable Deuce is as a party member, even if his first impression can be pretty weak.
4Ace, Sice, Seven
Not only is Seven pretty adept at using her awesome Whipblade, but she also boasts great magic as well. This makes her a pretty amazing party member, but her weaknesses need to be covered up in battle as well.
This is where Ace and Sice come into the picture. The former can use his ranged attacks to debilitate enemies, while the latter’s powerful Scythe attacks can easily and slice and dice their way through most foes.
3Sice, Deuce, Queen
Deuce is woeful when it comes to dealing damage in the party, so it’s better to pair him off with a party member who can make up for his lack of effectiveness in this department. This is where Sice and her massive Scythe come into the picture.

Rounding off this party is the well-balanced Queen, who can deal both melee and magic damage with ease. While this party may not be great for dealing ranged damage, it’s the sheer damage output afforded by Deuce’s buffs that make itsuch a tantalizing prospect inFinal Fantasy Type-0.
2Trey, Queen, Rem
At this point, it should be clear that Trey and Rem are two of the best characters in the game by quite some margin; Trey’s Bow can be incredibly useful in battle for ranged attacks, while Rem boasts the versatility of swift Twin Daggers while also having several great support abilities as well.
Pretty much any party member would work well with these two, and Queen is no exception to this golden rule. Her Divine Judgment is an excellent ability that hits enemies for decent damage while healing party members at the same time!
1Trey, Jack, Rem
Trey and Rem form another delicious pairing, but with a twist that turns this party into one of the mostfun and effective combinations to use inFinal Fantasy Type-0. The combination of Trey’s powerful ranged attack and Rem’s support abilities are great, but it’s King who serves as the icing on top of this delectable trio.
Jack’s Twin Pistols are great for both ranged and close-quarters combat, making him a great partner who can cover up for the weaknesses of his compatriots. With this party, pretty much every enemy inFinal Fantasy Type-0will be an absolute cakewalk.
