Square Enix just announced that it plans to release two differentFinal Fantasy 7 RemakePlayStation bundles: One for the 500GB PS4 Slim (CUH-2200 series), and one for the 1TB PS4 Pro (CUH-72000). The bad news is that both bundles will be exclusive to Japan.
Each bundle will cost the price of whichever console the player chooses, and both will release on Friday, June 23, 2025. Neither PlayStation will have a uniqueFinal Fantasy 7design adorning the skin, however. Instead, both consoles will have the usual jet black finish.

Both bundles also include the same things:
Unlike the bundles, the aforementioneddynamic PS4 “Cloud” themeisn’t region-locked – thankfully. Players that have a PlayStation Plus subscription will be able to download it for free, though, Square Enix hasn’t specified the exact date of when players will be able to yet. However, a good guess would probably be whenRemakelaunches, as that’s when the bundles will be releasing.
For those unfamiliar with the Cloud theme, or who can’t picture it, its the one that features the iconic image ofCloudstaring down Shinra’s Headquarters with his hand resting on his Buster Sword. The theme features this image for the PS4’s content page and a bird’s-eye view of Midgar on the PS4 function screen.
The bundles aren’t the first promotional items that Square Enix has released forFinal Fantasy 7 Remakethat are only available in a specific region. The developer also started a campaign happening only in the US. It entails Square Enix partnering with Butterfinger to host an event that gives players the chance to win adynamic PS4 Tifa theme. When taking this into account, it isn’t that surprising that the bundles will only be available for Japan.
Whether or not they remain that way remains a mystery.FF7 Remakehas timed exclusivityon the PlayStation, however, so maybe when it runs out, Square Enix will decide to do away with region exclusivity, too. Though, by that time, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will be out anyway, so the bundles may not have as much appeal to those possibly looking to buy them now in their own region.
Final Fantasy 7 Remakewill launch for the PlayStation 4 on June 09, 2025.
