A fan recently showed whatThe Elder Scrolls 6might look like in Unreal Engine 5. The actual game isn’t coming out any time soon and will probably use a version of the updatedCreation Engine that Bethesda is using inStarfield. However, it’s an exciting look at one interpretation ofThe Elder Scroll’s next installment.

A small YouTuber called Ascendent Dawn recently uploaded a video showing their interpretation of anElder Scrolls 6made in Unreal Engine 5. Many fans suspectThe Elder Scrolls 6will take place in Hammerfell, and this is the interpretation that Ascendent Dawn went with. The video is less than two minutes long and features three locations accompanied by music fromOblivionandSkyrim.

The video is in first person and begins with the player exiting a small hut and walking down a sandy gorge lined with what looks like corn stalks. A small quest tracker and compass appear along the top of the screen, reminiscent ofSkyrim’s minimalist UI.

Speaking ofSkyrim, it’s at this point that the player stops to look at a dragon flying by far off in the distance. There’s never been any indication ofdragons appearing in theElder Scrolls 6, and it’s not clear if players would even be able to kill them unless the new protagonist is also Dragonborn. Still, it’s not a crazy assumption on the part of Ascendent Dawn and makes for an excellent little set-piece. The dragon flies off, and the player moves on, finally arriving at a sheltered cove with a ruined structure rising out of the water.

The next scene shows the player walking down a mountain path and through a small village called Dragon Gate. The landscape could be plausible for some regions of Hammerfell. The scene ends with the player fast-traveling to Skaven, aHammerfell city-state featured inThe Elder ScrollsArena.

Some might say that the video’s interpretation of Skaven looks too European for Hammerfell. However, it wouldn’t look out of place inThe Elder Scrollsprovince of High Rock, the region directly north of Hammerfell. And considering thatThe Elders Scrolls 2: Daggerfallsaw players visiting both provinces, players might see something similar inThe Elder Scrolls 6.
