It has been a long time since players have seen a properMetroidtitle released. Fans of the series are hoping forMetroid Prime 4release dateinformation, but frustratingly little concrete info is currently available.
Fans of theMetroidseries are not exactly content to sit idle while waiting for their favorite series. Players hunt for leaks and hints from anyone who might have inside information, while some take a more creative approach. One of those creative approaches resulted in the creation of a LEGO set based off theMetroidseries submitted to LEGO Ideas, opening the possibility for it to become a genuine LEGO set.

The possible LEGO set contains many recognizable components from theMetroidseries. First and foremost is Samus Aran herself, decked out in full power armor with what looks like a removable helmet. Also included are two Space Pirates, classic foes of Samus since the start of the series. But easily the biggest and most eye-catching component is Samus Aran’s iconic ship. It may not be a full play-set, but there’s a lot there for collectors or LEGO enthusiasts. Whilehints ofMetroidin 2021 do exist, this is perhaps the most concrete thing fans of the series can hope to get their hands on anytime soon.
The pieces have a lot of movable and intricate components, which are always a big draw for LEGO sets. For example, the cockpit of the ship can be removed to allow Samus to sit in the pilot seat. The Samus figure can also ride on a descending platform under the ship or stand comfortably on top of it, both ways she exits the ship in the games. There’s clearly a market for this sort of thing, if theupcoming Mario LEGO set expansionsare any indication. While this likely won’t have electronic components like Mario LEGO, there will surely be buyers.
The set is submitted to LEGO Ideas, and if it amasses 10,000 votes, it will potentially be made a reality. It currently sits at just a little below the halfway point towards this number, but it’s more likely to become official thanthe Doom LEGO figurine. There’s a secret figure that’s part of the set as well, to be revealed with enough support, but the silhouette looks a lot like Samus in her Zero Suit.
How expensive the set would be to own is anyone’s guess at this point, but it would likely be reasonable. It’s a relatively small set after all, andthe most expensive LEGO setsare that way because of age and scarcity more than anything else.
