Bethesda has released details about theFallout 76update that has just launched, The Pitt, which has a huge file size on nearly all platforms. The update will add new events, daily quests, Pitt Expeditions, and more. The Expeditions, in addition, will allow players to leave the standard territory of Appalachia for the first time inFallout 76’shistory. But none of this new content comes without a cost, and the size of the add-on is itself larger than most AAA games.
TheFallout 76Pitt updatefocuses on new stories, missions, and nostalgic locations fromFallout 3. And, thoughFallout 76’smultiplayer gameplay has been an issue in the past, the content is another attempt by Bethesda to refresh the title and get players interested in its most recentFalloutinstallment. Many fans knew about the impending update, but nobody knew just how massive the file size was going to be.

Everything inFallout 76’sThe Pitt expansionis meant to engage players. And, while it will hopefully be successful, the size of the expansion is nothing to scoff at. The update will be 23.5 GB on Steam, 73.5 on the Microsoft Store, 77.1 on PlayStation, and 80.8 on Xbox. And that’s in addition to all the base content that fans have already downloaded. There’s no denying that Bethesda has seemingly gone overboard with this expansion and that, while they have introduced a ton of new activities, this could be too big an ask for casualFallout 76players.
The benefits of the update are numerous, however. Bethesda is providing dozens of bug fixes to its latestFallouttitle, and is changing C.A.M.P. features and gameplay elements to make the game smoother for fans. There is also a new season of content, season 10, which will be bringing gamers to the City of Steel. Indeed, players will hopefully find that many ofFallout 76’sneeded improvementshave been addressed.
Even if not everything has been fixed, however, it is good for fans to see that Bethesda has not given up on theFalloutMMO. Efforts tomakeFallout 76worth playingfor years to come are underway, and Bethesda will have to hope that its latest update is received with enthusiasm. And, as the new expansion reaches players, fans will have a chance to experience more of theFalloutuniverse and decide whether the addition to the title has been a success.
Fallout 76is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
