While the Villager amiibo was among this initial wave, the specificAnimal Crossingline of amiibo wouldn’t see its first wave released until September 2015, when the first wave of amiibo cards was released. Animal Crossing: amiibo Festivalrequires players to scan an amiibo figure using the Wii U gamepad when rolling the dice for their turn, meaning these figures were a necessary part of the gameplay experience. Alongside the two figures that were packed in with the game, this initial wave also includedAnimal Crossing’s K.K. Slider, Tom Nook, Mabel, Reese, Cyrus, and Lottie, who were compatible with the title.
