In Dreadsail Reef,Elder Scrolls Online’smost recent Trial, players can find pieces to four new armor sets: the DPS-oriented Whorl of the Depths set, and the Support and Tank-oriented Pillager’s Profit and Pearlescent Ward sets. Whorl of the Depths has great DPS bonuses, but it’s a Light Armor set. If you wear Medium Armor, opt for the equally powerful Coral Riptide set instead.

The Coral Riptide armor set is geared towards Stamina players, and has the potential to raise DPS output more significantly than almost any other armor set inElder Scrolls Online. There’s a catch, though: to maximize the full set bonus, players must learn how to work with a Stamina bar that constantly lingers at around one-third full.

Weapon and Spell Damage is increased by up to 740 depending on how low the Stamina bar is - the lower your Stamina total, the higher this bonus becomes
+657 Critical Hit Chance
The Coral Riptide armor set is a Medium armor set that Stamina-based DPS players should be looking atin theHigh IsleChapter. For two pieces equipped, players gain 657 Critical Hit Chance, while three pieces grants the Minor Slayer buff to increase damage against enemies in group content. Four pieces increases Weapon and Spell Damage by 129, and the Perfected version of the set increases Critical Hit Chance by a further 657 for a complete five-piece set.
The full equip bonus of the Coral Riptide armor setincreases Weapon and Spell Damageby up to a whopping 740 - the keyword is “up to”, though, as this bonus depends on your remaining Stamina. The lower your Stamina bar is, the higher this bonus. It maxes out at 33% Stamina remaining, so a build that can use a burst of Stamina at the start of a fight and maintain a low Stamina total for the rest can reliably take advantage of the +740 Weapon and Spell Damage.
How To Get The Coral Riptide Armor Set
The Coral Riptide armor set can only be found in the Dreadsail Reef Trial, which wasadded with theHigh IsleChapterforElder Scrolls Online. The entrance to this Trial is found in the northwest of High Isle proper, though it’s easier to just teleport to the entrance via the World Map rather than trek across the island.
Pieces to this set drop from bosses and enemies throughout Dreadsail Reef, so be prepared to run it a few times to get enough of these pieces to get the full equip bonus. The Perfected version of the Coral Riptide set can only be found in the Veteran version of Dreadsail Reef, which isa significantly harder challengethan the normal version. An extra 657 Critical Hit Chance is well worth the time and effort to clear this Trial on a harder difficulty, though.
