AnElden Ringinvader gets a ridiculous number of runes for killing the host. Like theDark Soulsgames,Elden Ringfeatures a multiplayer componentthat allows fans to play with or against other users.Elden Ringplayers can also invade other users’ games to possibly disrupt their progress, and earn runes as a reward for their efforts.

Developer FromSoftware released theColosseum update forElden Ringin December 2022, allowing fans to participate in PvP battles in a dedicated arena. Gamers could take part in solo or team-based fights, with an option to allow use of spirit ashes as well. This PvP feature is separate from the invasion mechanic, which requires the invader to use a certain item to initiate. It looks like invading inElden Ringcan be extremely lucrative, as one fan received a massive number of runes for killing their opponent.

A Reddit user named altorang has shared an image fromElden Ring, claiming to received an astronomical 94 million runes for defeating the host. The player speculates that the host was carrying 94 million runes, which were transferred to them as a reward for a successful invasion. However, fans in the comments section state that thenumber of runes players earn while invading inElden Ringare unrelated to how many the host was carrying, and a few users offer a reasonable explanation of what may have happened in this case.

According to these users, the number of runesElden Ringplayers earn is a percentage depending on the host’s leveling cost. So, many fans speculate that altorang may haveencountered anElden Ringhacker, who had used cheats to increase their level and stats. This could have caused an error within the reward systems ofElden Ring’s PvP mechanic, resulting in altorang getting 94 million runes for their efforts.

Another user also claims that the hacker could have pushed their level beyond the maximum, which can makeElden Ringthink that they need a billion runes to level up, and ultimately give out a huge number of runes if the invader manages to kill the host.

Elden Ringhas a max level of 713and players need to collect a staggering 1,692,558,415 runes in total to reach this stage. So, despite the earning an impressive 94 million runes for one PvP battle, it seems like altorang may need to collect way more runes to reach the maximum level inElden Ring.

Elden Ringis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
