Summary
Vocations inDragon’s Dogma 2are exciting and intriguing to mess with. The game offers a variety of starting Vocations and some more advanced ones that unlock later. But more advanced doesn’t necessarily mean better.
InDragon’s Dogma 2, each Vocation feels unique and is shaped around a strong idea. You can customize your personal focus, and if you want specific skills around you but not for yourself, you can make your Pawn learn it or find one that has what you need.

Trickster has a strong idea as a Vocation inDragon’s Dogma 2. However, the idea falls short when you realize Trickster doesn’t have any kind of damage or useful mechanics other than their illusions. To play Trickster properly, you have to ensure you’re playing withPawns that have some top-tier skillsand can carry the team’s damage.
Other than confusing opponents, Trickster can buff their allies, which gives them little control over the battlefield. Other than that, it feels like an unfinished Vocation that deserves the C-tier since there’s nothing else to do other than watch.

Advertised as the jack of all trades, but in reality, it’s the master of none. Warfarer is supposedly a class that takes your favorite Vocations and puts them all in the same character. However, Warfarer suffers from the low amount of Skills you can equip when you build it. Even worse, Warfarer is forced to use a Skill to switch between weapons, which leaves them with only three open slots to equip Skills.
The Warfarer’s core problems continue since even after equipping Skills, you may’t use them until you switch and match theweapon with the Vocation inDragon’s Dogma 2. There may be some combos you can use when playing as a Warfarer, but that doesn’t stop the Vocation from being a C-tier underwhelming class inDragon’s Dogma 2.

Fighter is a decentstarting Vocation inDragon’s Dogma 2. They have unique mechanics for using Shields to block incoming attacks. However, since blocking attacks is a big part of the Vocation’s identity, Fighter suffers every time the situation gets overwhelming. Their suffering comes from their lack of Stamina, which is desperately needed for blocking and using Skills.
Ironically, as a starter Vocation, you need to play, level up, and collect Augments from other Vocations to improve the Fighter’s troubles with Stamina. Underneath these troubles, there’s a very useful B-tier Vocation inDragon’s Dogma 2.

At first glance, Archers seem too cool with their quick and precise shots. However, with all their great features,Archers suffer from many clunky mechanicsthat stop them from being higher than a B-tier Vocation.
Some of their clunky mechanics include hitting weak spots, which is a big part of Archers’ identity. They can’t shoot arrows or use their Skills without aiming down their Bow and following a moving target, especially if it’s fast. This prevents most Archer’s hits from landing on weak spots and sometimes not landing at all. Not to mention, you have to work for their arrows that are related to their best Skills.

Warrior is a melee Vocation inDragon’s Dogma 2that performs well offensively and defensively. Since they wield the largest weapons in the game, it’s only fair they’re the best at knocking down bosses while tanking so much damage without getting knocked down.
Since they’re good at tanking, Warrior is good at drawing aggro toward them and that helps their team to breathe and focus on their own stuff without getting attacked. The downside of theWarrior Vocation is their lack of mobilityduring combat. Most of the time, they feel too heavy to move and too slow to hit. When you want to tank your way through your foes, there’s no better than an A-tier Vocation like the Warrior to do so inDragon’s Dogma 2.

Trysha and Myrddin
Sorcerer is the best AoE DPS inDragon’s Dogma 2since the amount of area damage this Vocation can cause is insane. Not only AoE, but Sorcerer is also able to deal massive damage to big enemies and bosses since they will fill the radius of most attacks.

While they’re so strong, Sorcerer suffers from some limitations that hinder their damage and stop them from being an S-tier Vocation inDragon’s Dogma 2. Their cast timing is horrendously long, and they go through a lot of using and recharging Stamina during combat. Most of the time in battle, the Sorcerer will just be standing, either recharging Stamina or casting their Spell. These limitations are apparent and stop Sorcerer from going higher than the A-tier rank inDragon’s Dogma 2.

TheMagick Archer Vocation inDragon’s Dogma 2has all the cool features the Archer has without any of its limitations and downsides. In fact, Magick Archer has access to some of the most unique Skills inDragon’s Dogma 2. Just like Mages and Sorcerers, Magick Archer can manipulate the elements with their Bows and Arrows. They can also detect and aim at enemies' weak spots automatically, which can cause great damage at times.
Magick Archer doesn’t only excel in offensive playstyle, they’re also decent at playing a Supportive role. You can build a Magick Archer to heal and revive Pawns from a safe distance while dealing damage. A hybrid Vocation that can control every aspect of every battle, like the Magick Archer, deserves to sit on top with other S-tier Vocations.

Flaude and Srail
If you enjoy dealing tons of damage while not getting hit, then the Thief Vocation is for you. Thieves are quick and brutalwhen it comes to pure DPS inDragon’s Dogma 2. No other class can cause the single target damage Thieves can unleash upon their foes.

What makes Thief special as a Vocation is their ability to sneak and dash away from enemies’ hits. Not to mention, if they end up climbing next to a monster’s weak point, that monster would be deleted shortly after. All that damage deserves the S-tier rank for thebest Vocations inDragon’s Dogma 2.
Eini
Mages are excellent Supporting units inDragon’s Dogma 2. Their combat style ranges from offensive to Supportive skills, but they excel at helping their team far better. They’re so good that almostevery team inDragon’s Dogma 2is running a Mage Pawn.
While a Mage in every party is essential, it should be a Pawn who runs the Vocation since their Skills are too focused on cleansing and healing, unless you prefer Supporting from the backlines. Still, whether it’s the Arisen or one of their Pawns running a Mage, it’s an S-tier Vocation inDragon’s Dogma 2.

Sigurd
Mystic Spearhand has it all regarding combat inDragon’s Dogma 2. They’re incredible at controlling enemies with their Bolts andmoving around with their dashes and instant teleportations. There’s nothing negative to say about Mystic Spearhand other than it doesn’t apply to Pawns.
Mystic Spearhand can move in and out of combatwith no issues or heavy usage of Stamina. They can quickly dash to an enemy with their Skills or instantly after hitting them with a bolt. Add shielding themselves and their allies, and you have an S-tier Vocation who can control the battlefield with ease.
