Dye can be found mostly for sale in a specific area and the purpose is not actually what players expected inDragon’s Dogma 2. Some may think it’s for changing the color of the armor, similar to how dye works inBaldur’s Gate 3, but that’s not the case.
Arisens need to travel far and find a way to accessBattahlinDragon’s Dogma 2, as it’s highly likely you will stumble on a dye shop there. However, keep in mind thatpurchasing dye doesn’t call for Goldbut instead requires some Rift Crystals (RC).
How To Get Dye In Dragon’s Dogma 2
To get dye inDragon’s Dogma 2, players must find a way to enter Battahland travel to the capital, which is Bakbattahl. A merchant can be found there behind the Pawn Guild, near the Grand Riftstone of Battahl, who goes by the nameAlexia. Interact with the merchant to buy the following dyes:
Each one costs 500 RC, so make sure tohave enough Rift Crystalsto buy some dye. Rift Crystals are mainly obtained by unlocking new Riftstoneswhile exploring inDragon’s Dogma 2or by sending your Main Pawn to help other Arisens beyond the Rift.
Where To Use Dye In Dragon’s Dogma 2
InDragon’s Dogma 2, dye is used in the character customization. After purchasing the desired dye,head to any barberie shopand choose tocustomize your character or your Main Pawn. You can pay Gold to change the following features:
Once players are inside the customization menu, they now possess more color range in each category.
If players wish to change appearance for RC instead of Gold, buy theArt of Metamorphosisfrom the merchant in Vermund, located near the Grand Rift of Vermund.
So if you got the blue dye, all features will have a wide variety of shades of blue as extra options. The same thing can be said for the rest of the dyes.
How To Enter Battahl In Dragon’s Dogma 2
There are many methods to enter Battahl and some depend onthe Arisen’s Shadow Quest inDragon’s Dogma 2.
The Shadow Runs away/dies
You receive a fake entry permit to enter Battahl
Buy aBeastern Maskfrom merchants, like Ibrahim’s Scrap Store in Checkpoint Rest Town, and wear it while showing the permit to the guard.
Refuse Compensation
The Shadow gets arrested by Brant
You receive a real entry permit from Brant to enter Battahl

Take a detour from Checkpoint Rest Town and enter Battahl discreetly through a cave.
