Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotmay be the most highly-anticipated full game release of January 2020. It launches in less than a week, and it is one of just a handful of major releases kicking off the year. However, fans looking to pickupDragon Ball Z: Kakaroton launch day may have noticed a distressing fact about the game’s premium Collector’s Edition: it does not includeDragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s DLC Season Pass.

Bandai Namco has put together a very impressiveCollector’s Edition forDragon Ball Z: Kakarot, there’s no doubt. The bundle includes the fullDragon Ball Z: Kakarotgame, a collectible Steelbook case for the game, a hardcover game artbook, and an exclusive diorama figure that’s 8x8x8 inches big. However, the package doesn’t include the game’s $24.99 Season Pass, which some fans may consider unacceptable after hearing that theDragon Ball Z: KakarotCollector’s Edition costs a hefty $199.99.

TheDragon Ball Z: KakarotSeason Pass isn’t particularly robust when compared to some games' post-launch plans, as listings indicate that it features just two “Original Story Episodes” and one “New Story Arc.” As such, some players are likely to expect the Season Pass to be bundled into the $199.99 Collector’s Edition, as indeed that is a common practice with theCollector’s Editionsfor many games.

The absence of the Season Pass isn’t limited to just the Collector’s Edition ofDragon Ball Z: Kakarot, either, as there are nophysical editions ofDragon Ball Z: Kakarotthat contain it. While there is a Deluxe Edition available digitally that includes the Season Pass, it costs $84.99, which provides no inherent discount with the base game costing $59.99 and the Season Pass costing $24.99.

While the lack of the Season Pass in the Collector’s Edition ofDragon Ball Z: Kakarotmay be disappointing,Dragon Ball Zfans can still simply pick up the base game, decide if they like it, and then pick up the Season Pass later on. That said, some players may still be hesitant to pickup the Collector’s Edition of the game, as $199.99 is a lot of money to spend on a package without the Season Pass, regardless of how cool the statue might be.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotreleases January 19 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
