Diablo 4Season 1 was met with severe backlash, forcing Blizzard to go back to the drawing board. It reverted many of the unpopular changes that it made with the initial Season 1 update, but even that was not enough to convince disgruntled players to return toDiablo 4. Blizzard has since turned its attention toDiablo 4Season 2 as its next attempt to bring fans back to the action-RPG, though its launch has had some problems of its own.

Diablo 4Season 2 was supposed to start at 10am PT on Tuesday, October 17. Unfortunately,Diablo 4Season 2 has been hit with a last minute delay, pushing its start back by “a few hours.” Blizzard ran into “some complications,” but hasn’t provided any specifics as to why it’s had to delay the Season of Blood start time. Blizzard has said that it will share updates with fans as soon as it can, and that it appreciates their “patience.”

If Blizzard literally means “a few hours” to be about three hours, then fans should be able to expectDiablo 4Season 2 to start around 1pm PT. It’s possible thatDiablo 4Season 2 will kick off earlier, but there’s also a chance that fans will have to wait longer than expected to jump into the Season of Blood. Diablo 4Season 2 will introduce a new storyline about an undead plague of vampires invading the game world, with players finding themselves allied with anew vampire hunter character. Like with allDiablo 4seasons, players will want to create a brand-new character from scratch to experience the new story content coming in Season 2.

Those who don’t want to create a new character to play the seasonal content will want to wait for theDiablo 4paid expansions. Blizzard has indicated that it plans on releasingone newDiablo 4expansion per year, but details on what the game’s first major DLC will entail have yet to be revealed. With BlizzCon 2023 right around the corner, it’s possible fans will learn 4’s plans for 2024 sooner rather than later.
